    Thank you all so much:D:D

Mr Moomin sounds like Mr Munchin - he couldn't believe I was getting in a flap about the gown when I'm going to have my inner workings on display. He also doesn't get my need for shoes and handbags but that is another story:o. At least I'm not worried about the procedure now:)

Simple clothes it is then and it should all over by 11am. I kind of hope they find something (nothing sinister) so that I know why my stomach plays up.

PS .. in our hospital they give you "modesty" knickers to wear under the gown ... make sure you have the open slit at the back ! Unlike some of us who ended up with torn knickers ! lol
If they offer you sedation, TAKE it ! I get this done regularly and decided it wasnt that bad, so refused it last time ! The surgeon learnt a few new sweary words before he was done ! lol

Hi Mara - thank you :). I would hate to have this done regularly - how do you stomach the moviprep?? I was sick of the taste of it by the time I got to the 2nd lot.

I was hoping to sleep in and wake up about 8 to get ready but my body had other ideas. I am starving!!

    Hey Munchin

I see that you are up and about early hours :D I hope that the procedure goes as proficiently as possible today and that by 11am you can really relax and it's all been completed. Ultimately, here's hoping that it gets the answers for the health professionals - and for you - that are required :)

    Thinking of ya :)

Yeahthat prep stuff is vile ! Funny tho, I quite like the empty feeling , makes me feel thinner ! Lol

The cup of tea and toast that you get after the procedure is damn delicious tho, nothing could taste better. Just take it easy after, relax, drink plenty and be kind to yourself .

Oh and during ..? Dont wait for any adverts on the screen, there are none !

Hi Greying, Mara, Skint & Moomin - thank you for your support - online friends are great.

I survived and will be doing as Mara says and resting up this afternoon. I'm keeping my plaster on my hand and my hospital admittance wrist thing so that I can brag to my nephews:D.

I'm so relieved its all over. I arrived at 9.30 but wasn't seen until 11.30 so the nerves were getting to me. The doctors & nurses were so lovely - yeah for NHS. I got to wear 2 gowns so no butt on display:o, the sedative was quite mild so the procedure was fine. The hardest part was taking the preparation beforehand. It was kind of weird watching my insides on the monitor but good as well.

The doctor said that he can see that my bowel is inflamed but its not diverticulitis. He removed a few bits for biopsy but he said that was quite normal. I'm a bit disappointed because I had hoped he would say it was x or y and I could fix it. His results will go back to my doctor and I'll see what happens next.

Finally, Mara the toast and tea after were amazing:D

    Hi again,

Normal service is resumed and it is back to the old money saving. I ended up moving money from my savings back into my current account to get me through the rest of the month and to pay for new tyres.

Today I spent £35 on physio (last appointment:)) and £126 on 2 new tyres :(.

I downloaded the app "you need a budget" (cheers Moomin) and have happily spent time playing with it. Things are tight next month as well thanks to orthodics and car tax but at least I have the money for them and am not building up more debt. I owe OH money for the bits he bought for the car service and hopefully I will get that info out of him tonight and then I will really know how much money I have to the end of the month.

    Money:

    Bank: £155.64
    Purse: £16.46
    Credit card: £20

    Hi all

I've been on the go today and feel good for it. I went to Sainsbugs this morning and did my shop - £20.27, I used vouchers & nectar points with it. I managed to make my Pilates class but may not be able to move tmw:o. House has been cleaned from top to bottom and I'm now enjoying a cup of tea.

In Sainsbugs I bought a bottle of wine which I thought was discounted to £5 but it turned out it was on the wrong shelf and cost £8. I checked my receipt when I got to my car and I just felt annoyed about the mistake so I took it back and swapped it. The MSE head is screwed on again.

OH gave me the invoice for all the bits and bobs for my car and it came to just under £80 but he said not to worry about it. I insisted on paying it but he only took £30:D:D. I am now able to sort out my budget for the rest of the month.

    Money:

    Purse: £73.73
    Bank: £28.37
    Credit card: £20

    Morning all,

I downloaded YNAB and I've been playing around with it. I know I am a terrible fritterer but it is a real eye opener to where my money goes. I know that any budget will show this up but because its new I'm keeping a better record - which I should have been doing all along:) For example yesterday I kept a record of everything I spent and it added up so quickly and I would have thought yesterday would be an NSD -
    • £1.50 (paper for Mum)
    • £5 (church collection)
    • £1 (charity)
    • £4 ( church thing in evening)
    • £3.62 (groceries)
    Total - £16.12

I set out my budget for next month and have more categories than ever but there is a lot of changing. My sister asked me to take a day off later in July to make a day of it with Mum and then we have a charity tea for a relative on another day. I'm not complaining at all and will enjoy these days but it shows that I really don't budget properly.

    Money:

    Purse: £56.61
    Bank: £28.37
    Credit card: £20

    Good morning
I came across your diary for the first time today and have spent a few enjoyable minutes catching up.

Strangely I too had a colonoscopy on Saturday. I can smile now but hope it is a first and last experience for me. It seems I have diverticulitis and had a biopsy too. Spent yesterday recovering and working out a plan. Since passing fifty my past exploits seem to have caught up with me. My weight has yoyoed by six stone and now I am at my heaviest ever. But reading your diary has given me the push to get up and start the day, so thank you.

Onward and upward for us all, have a goog week everyone
