Morning - not great to have to go to hospital on your birthday but
H a p p y B i r t h d a y
Hope it turns out to be a good one for you x0 -
Evening eveyone
Hi Lam - thanks for the birthday message, I've had a good day:D.
Hospital gave me a lovely steriod injection - not really my idea of a Xmas or birthday pressie;) but if it works then that is all that matters.
OH is very poorly with the man flu. He did give me a gorgeous bottle of perfume - Euphoria by Calvin Klein as well as M&S vouchers. He was supposed to be taking me out for dinner but I wouldn't force him as he's too sick and it would be a crap evening for us. I'll book him for dinner in January when he's better:)
Spends today - £0. I still have to buy chocs for 1 brother but I can do that easily on Friday or Sat.
I'm up early tomorrow as it's the Next sale but I never have much luck with that.
The Xmas pressie for OH which was lost by Royal Mail turned up and so did the replacement sent by the shop. I'm now going to have to send one back.
I shall now have a glass of red wine and revel in the fact that I must be another year wiser rather than older:)

Morning all:wave:
Oh it's closer to the man in the big red suit arriving:santa2:
I'm up early as it was the Next sale this morning and OH has been coughing all night so couldn't sleep anyway. I spent £56 in the sale but I don't count this until I decide what I want to keep. I got my nephew a pair of jeans reduced to £6.50 - it's his birthday at end of Jan. For myself I ordered a pair of jeans (£10), wellies (£12), a top and cropped jeans. I'm not sure about keeping any of the above but will wait and see what they are like when delivered.
I was also quite good because I put some things in the shopping bag as they were on sale but then I asked myself if I would have bought them if they weren't on sale and the honest answer was no so they got chucked out again.
I think today we are going up to DFS as OH wants to buy a sofa. Exciting:)
I really must buy a tin of chocs for brother today. I also need to give some money to mum for the gammon and odds and sods on Xmas day.

Hello again:D
After getting up early to have a nosy at the Next sale my plan was to go back to bed. However I spotted knitting Nora's diary and have just read it from start to finish. I was snorting with laughter at bits:o. Very inspirational and very funny.
I noticed a statement on that diary which said "every penny is a prisoner". So I'm going to do my best to adopt that mantra and keep the little blighters in my purse. I suppose that i feel that if I don't do big spends then little spends aren't so bad but no more - well no more after I buy this blasted tin of sweets.
Had a massive fright this morning. OHs next door neighbours seem to be creating a mini zoo in their front lawn (llamas, birds, horses). This morning they have moved the donkeys back into the front lawn. As I was peacefully sipping my coffee and giggling at K Noras diary the donkey let out a bleeding great bray. Coffee up nose and down my pjs:o
I've also just been over to flyin fresian's diary and have now signed up to swagbucks. I'm not sure how to work this so I've copied Fresian's instructions to my diary to keep me right -
Daily polls -
1 point NOSO (no spend offer) - click through to the end without signing up to anything - 2 points
Trusted surveys - 1 point if you're screened out, up to 300 if you're not.
.. main search engine as you get points for searching on a random basis.
Special offers - someone pointed me to the daily survey for 55 points on the Payment Wall section, all you have to do is tick a box and you get 55 points! bucks.
I'm defo awake now:D. I better go check if OH is still alive.

Back again:D
I've been out round the shops this afternoon and I've "bought" chocolates for my brothers family and a mini bottle of Baileys for myself as it's Xmas :snow_laug. It was part of OHs shopping and I tried to give him money for it but he won't take it:T
I did spend £9 on shoes from New Look. My knee is a bit swollen from the jab and there is no way I will be able to wear heels on Xmas day so bought myself a pair of black pumps.
I'm already having regrets about my Next purchases and the top and possibly the crop jeans are going back. I don't think I cancel them on line before they go out.
So the Dec/Jan budget looks like this -
Groceries - £140
Clothes - £[STRIKE]60[/STRIKE]/£51
Presents - £20
Entertainment - £60
OH is away to get an Indian for tonights tea. He feels bad as we didn't go out for my birthday last night but I've told him that with my dodgy knee and his man flu we couldn't have gone out and not to worry about it. I'm happy sitting in front of a fire with a glass of baileys/wine basically alcohol of any description:rotfl: and a good book and good company.
Tomorrow it's last minute grocery shopping with my Mum and a good tidy of house.
I think it's time to have a grope at pressies and try to figure out what they are.

Morning all,
Yeah Christmas is nearly on us.:D I'm up early as I've got to beat it back to the shops for my sister. One of my nephews toys isn't working so I'm taking it back. Going early as I'm sure the town will be full of desperate men shopping on the final day.
Well it's the moment of truth.....I asked OH to fake tan my back but he said he'd do it all. I'm getting in the shower now and I could be a tad tangoed but we'll see:o
Plans today -
- Clean house
- Return dodgy toy
- Final few bits of shopping with mum (sprouts, cream (but not together)
- wrap final pressies and deliver to 2 brothers
- Relax with feet up.

Hi all
I am soo ready for my bed. I'm knackered but I got soooo much done and it's Xmas tomorrow (in precisely 57 mins) :xmastree::T:T
Plans today -
- [STRIKE]Clean house[/STRIKE] - why did I decide to clean out the pots and pans cupboard with a dodgy knee - ?? sometimes I worry about me:D
- [STRIKE]Return dodgy toy[/STRIKE] - customer service guy had a Xmas bypass but I was right and he was wrong:p
- [STRIKE]Final few bits of shopping with mum (sprouts, cream (but not together)[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]wrap final pressies and deliver to 2 brothers[/STRIKE]
- Relax with feet up - didn't really happen.
Mum texted in a panic wanting to know if I had binned the large saucepan - why would I bin it?????? - Mothers are strange. While she panicked and faffed and checked the bin!!!!!!. I rang my sis and she had borrowed it. I think Mother Munchin needs a glass of Baileys:snow_laug
Sister Munchin rang in a half panic, no 2 nephew (her son) had returned from his fathers with an original hairstyle (he had cut his own hair). Sis is freaking out but what's done is done. Sister Munchin needs a glass of Baileys :snow_grin
Happy Xmas everyone and I hope Santa is good.0 -
Sorry quick update on budgets before I sneak off to bed -
So the Dec/Jan budget looks like this -
Groceries - £[STRIKE]140[/STRIKE] - £120
Clothes - £60/£51
Presents - £20
Entertainment - £60
I gave mum £20 towards gammon and stuff for Xmas. I forgot to mention that I opened a Xmas card from OH and it had another £30 of M&S vouchers in it which is really fantastic. I now have £50 of M&S vouchers:)0 -
Morning all
Xmas was lovely yesterday. A very nice meal which I had no issues with and some lovely Xmas gifts (another £30 of M&S vouchers and a kindle :T)
The only down side was that I raised the engagement ring issue with OH and he said that in a couple of years when his mortgage is paid etc and his head is sorted then maybe. In a couple of years time I will be 40 and the chances of me having a kid will probably be gone. I don't know how to sit down and chat with him about this. I had hoped we would be engaged in 2012. However no point in ruining Xmas and I need to shake this feeling off, but burying issues never worked before, they fed the ED. No idea how or when to go back to this with him. It took me all night to think of how I feel and what to say.
My knee is agony today and I am hobbling about in pain.
Xmas is a great time for bringing up issues that depress me:o. I've also been working on my budget for January 2012:D.

Confession time:o:o
I have a B'card cashback card which I use for diesel spends however now and again i put groceries on it when getting diesel and 9 times out of 10 I don't declare it. There will be no more of these spends because I'm only fooling myself. From now on it's going to be declared, so while my spends budgets will be going down as I spend, the diesel budget will be going up if you know what i mean
Groceries - [STRIKE]£140[/STRIKE]/£119
Clothes - [STRIKE]£60[/STRIKE]/£51
Presents - £20
Entertainment - £60
B'card (diesel) - +£182
The statement date for the B'card is 14th of each month and I have budgeted a maximum of £230 for this card which I want to reduce.
Spends today £1 on papers.
I'm now away to do some swagbucks and to finalise (again:D) my frugal spreadsheet. Have a wonderful day everyone.
