  • Hey Munchin

Glad you are feeling better. It's great that you are so in tune with what is triggering your feelings - and that you are taking action to rectify the situation. From an outsider's perspective, you're doing really great and have achieved a ton of stuff! Plus there is plenty more to come as your kitchen is finished, your holidays arrive and, and, and.....:D

    Keep going :D

Yes, you don't need to be near a river to be flooded, groundwater rising and drains backing up are major concerns. Ugh, I just wish the rain would stop and the levels go down.

Hi Moomin and Greying thank you for your lovely comments:D- maybe we should rename it the "February funk".

Today was productive even though we had wind, rain and hailstones. I
[STRIKE]pruned an overgrown bush[/STRIKE] hacked the living daylights out of a bush that had grown to ginormous proportions and meant the gate wouldn't shut properly.

My wall is now plastered and although I did pay my cousins hubby for the plastering stuff (£15) he only took £30 for the job:D. My other cousin came over and finished his plumbing thing and fixed a radiator in the spare room that I hadn't realised wasn't working until he checked - no wonder my sister steals my hot water bottle when she visits.

So the kitchen comes next week and there isn't a thing I can do now until after it is fitted.

Money front I'm doing ok :)
. It said in the paper today that our rates are not changing this year which is great - it would be too much to ask for them to be reduced.

  • All it would take would be for our councillors, mlas and mps to go onto performance related pay and rates bills would plummet.

Hi INOD - so true :D. Could you imagine the things that would be done and improved if it affected their pay. A few years ago I went to Boston for a course and there was such heavy snow but the roads were clear and so were the footpaths. Our tutor said that the difference between them and us is that the mayor would be sacked if the roads were not clear.

So this morning I've been to mass and although the road was probably salted at some point the rain must have washed it away and the road was like a bottle. I had probably said all my prayers before I had got to mass.

I think OH and I are of to Downhill today which is a gorgeous beach about a mile long and it has the Mussenden temple looking down on it (Guinness ad). It is bright and clear here so it would be nice to have a bit of colour back in my face:).

I have nothing really interesting to say about the week ahead - no real plans. I'm thinking about going to a new yoga class on Tues. I've been to yoga a few times and I find it boring but this class has more of a flow about it and I'm willing to give it a go.

Yikes another week has gone past in a flash. I didn't really have any plans but I managed to fill my week. I met some friends for lunch during the week and caught up with all their gossip:)

Eating front - doing well, practising mini meditation when I'm panicked and dare I say that it is working:D:D. I had a bad stomach last night - I'm due to see a specialist at some point because sometimes my stomach flares up and is so so bad but I can't identify what is triggering it. Since I made the appointment I have had no flare ups (magic cure:)) however last night was the first flare up in a long time:(.

Money front - mmm least said the better:o. Ok I've not been that bad but I've just not counted the odd spend here and there. So at some point today I need to set out the pennies and see where I am at.

Today I'm off to a cross country race which I help marshall at. I have my waterproofs, change of clothes, water & sweeties all packed and ready to go. The rain is "supposed" to stay away until this afternoon but in this country - fat chance.

Finally, my kitchen is being fitted on Monday:j

Hope you all have a lovely day.

    Evening all

    I'm back again
:D. I had a fantastic day and was out in the fresh air cheering on runners and enjoying the atmosphere. I also managed a wee run before the races - I'm not up to taking part just yet but I'm getting there.

I also saw a convoy of mini cars:D... I want one. There had been a story in the paper asking mini drivers to join Paddy Hopkirk (rally champion who won the Monte carlo rally 50 years ago) at Stormont this morning. As I was in the estate early this morning I got to see Mr Hopkirk and his mini and a ton of minis in all shapes, sizes and varieties.

I got home and there was a wedding invitation for OH and I to go to a friends wedding on a wee island in N Ireland in August. OH isn't sure if he can get that time of but he is going to check.

Finally, I have booked a mini break in Oct with friends - ok I booked it but OH is paying for it:T.

I'm now just sitting here relaxing and watching the Olympics.

    Afternoon all,

I'm on leave today as my cousin is putting in my new kitchen:D. It does look like a bit of a bomb site at the moment but he should have it all done by tomorrow. It is amazing how much junk you can cram into a spare room. I have to play tetris with the kitchen chairs to get into my room:).

Yesterday was a very quiet boring day. OH didn't sleep the night before and wasn't in the mood for doing anything yesterday so I just pottered.

I am now going to sit and work out the budgets for March:)

    Morning all:)

Well the kitchen is almost done - unfortunately B&Q sent the wrong worktop but apart from that it is almost done. I have actually managed to move most of our [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] kitchenware back into the kitchen so I now have access to my bedroom and the spare room:). There is still the tiling to be done and a few tiles to be found to replace the broken ones on the kitchen floor but being MSE I am getting some from my bruv as he has spare and they are identical to mine - yeah for brothers.

I know that the money front will be tight again this month but that is ok as I have a gorgeous kitchen which I have talked about for years.

I was up at 6 this morning as I have a busy enough weekend and I wanted to get all my ironing done and the house put back in some order before I leave for work. It isn't looking too bad if I do say so myself:).

I'm also firmly back on the MSE bandwagon so I just need to pack my lunch and account for every penny this month.

    Hi all

I had a bit of an emotional wobble today. I was supposed to get a haircut at 10 this morning but when I arrived my hairdresser had rung in sick and everyone else was busy. I know the girl can't help being sick but I hate having my plans changed (don't worry counsellor has highlighted my perfectionist and obsessive traits:D). I decided to head into town and try on some clothes. I'm naturally top heavy so I'm used to clothes not fitting on my top half but it was so disheartening. I didn't buy anything which was good on the MSE front but I was so down on myself. I managed to pull myself out of this mood. We are all different shapes and I'm never going to be flat chested so as they say "build a bridge and get over it:D".

I spent some money on food shopping and came home and cleaned the house from top to bottom:)
