It is not the fault of Littlewoods you sought to take advantage to an obvious error on their website and moved beyond your financial means as far as your current account is concerned.
My current account is perfectly healthy thanks very much!
It was paid by credit card, which down to Dixons mainly has transactions all over the place on it for goods which they continually said were coming back into stock but never arrived. Along with multipul authorisations for the same order!. This I thought had been sorted out, but obviously they don't seem to have been resolved yet. These account for almost £400 in authorisations/transactions. I didn't blame Littlewoods, Dixons I do blame.
My point simply was I wasn't aware penalty charges came into play when authorisations were against the card, rather than the actual transaction being processed.
I can afford penalty charges fine but haven't in my years of using banks/credit cards had the need to pay any thankfully.
I politely suggest you don't bring my financial means into question when you are without all the facts.
Did you order one too then? :P
Edit: ahh, you didjfman_from_post_#505 wrote:I however don't believe they are disappointing or inconveniencing many of us as we knew (or should have known) we had no chance. I think this is all madkid88 was looking for.0 -
Newbie post - be gentle!
Just an update to let you know was in early on this
(email confirmation from littlewoods for laptop etc for 224 (10%disc voucher too by 12.30 on first morning)
My order tracking obviously just says software only as they all seem too.
Heard nothing more from them and money has been taken by direct debit overnight from current account
LXDirect and Littlewoods must be adopting different policies!
Looks like i'll be sending the software back .... unless the original email confirmation indicating the laptop and then being sent the software is deemed a complete contract and i have not received what i believed to have ordered ??????????0 -
can someone please advice what to do,Do i cancel?
Or do i just wait,You are unable to return software so don't want to be stuck with just the software.
Should i cancel yes or no?Lucky No27

Then you will have peace of mind0 -
The money has now been taken from my Credit Card.....still no email from them (cancellation wise)
Hmmm
The Great Declutter Challenge - £8760 -
I cancelled mine yesterday although they have actually taken the money out today, spoke to them this morning said they are going to refund make take a few days though0

Have to say, it's getting to the point now where I'm losing any sympathy I might've had (which was not much) toward Littlewoods.
They've had 3 days now in which to notify me of a "mistake" or to cancel the order. They haven't done this, so I don't think it's unreasonable at this point for someone to assume it's going to come. Well, that's what I'll say when I write to them complaining in the end anyway0 -
think they should refund and offer any interest that theyd probalby got to charity(my charity)0

My dad who also ordered the £249 laptop, has received his confirmation email, has had his cash taken, and has NOT received any word from Littlewoods of cancellation...
Starting to think that maybe a lucky few will be allowed to slip through the net perhaps...I certainly hope so, he hasn't had much luck lately!0
