    Thats what it was like for me, which is why I called them and then I was told it was a misprice and my order would not be honoured. When I asked what the correct price was the girl told me she'd find out then she hung up on me.

    I take your point and heartily add it to my own confusion...

    Their T&Cs state that order acceptance occurs when goods are despatched. Online tracking states that my order has already been accepted, prior (I assume) to despatch taking place. If my order hasn't been accepted then why are they telling me that it has ?

    The way I see it, I've ordered a laptop/software package which was confirmed via email, then according to online tracking my order was "processing" and now that same order number relates to an Accepted Order. Only now the description of the item (or that site's shorthand of it) has changed to apparently reflect only the software part of my order.

    Meanwhile if the monies pending in my bank account go out overnight, I don't see how Littlewoods can backtrack on it. Their cockup, their problem.

    I'm not sure if Littlewoods are the sort of company I'd advocate as worthy of MSE "Consumer Revenge" though. They've always seemed okay to me, know some people who work for 'em and have never had a problem with them. OTOH, they can easily afford to take the hit on this one, at either £149 or £249.

    They may class the "confirmation" email as an automated response and say that your order is not confirmed until actually despatched or something like that

    I remember when I ordered my HD Drive from Dixons and in their terms it said that orders were not accepted until they sent you the third email to confirm their is stock for you and they can basically pull out at anytime so companies have loads of get out clauses in their T&C's

    At least if you don't try then you dont get
  • Okay, so what should we do? (Those of us who have ordered and think they will recieve just the software? Like myself, my order had been accepted but it now shows as an order for software only) Do we cancel because we know what will happen and we might be lumbered with Vista that will be troublesome to return or wait and see what happens?

    I'd say wait and see if Littlewoods come up with a 'special' email tomorrow.

    1. Everyone wades in.
    2. Some wade in for LOTS (Ebayers)
    3. Everyone takes screen scrapes.
    4. Lots ask about the legal standing.
    5. All the armchair lawyers get flushed out.
    6. Order gets cancelled (SURPRISE, SURPRISE)
    7. Much bullahaloo....a lot of noise about Trading Standards
    8. Everyone moves onto the next misprice.....return to step 1!


    *but* you gotta be innit to winnit...I placed an order for the £149 lappy too!

    LOL :rotfl: I must mad wasting my evening staring at a chat forum in the hope of getting a £149 laptop in 2 days time! Amazing how quickly these things spread though and what a great buzz it was placing the order, even if it was cancelled! Until next time MSE. Goodnight!
