I have a feeling that it's all turning a corner for you now.
Hmmm, maybe.
I still haven't been formally offered the job in writing, but my current line manager has already sent off the reference she's been asked for.
I get it; they're gathering references before the formal offer, but it's all fallen at this particular hurdle before - I'm still looking and applying for jobs just in case. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
I've been offered a position and am going through the process of accepting it - DBS application, reference collection and OH assessment, you know the routine.
It's a part time position. I still haven't been given a formal start date.
Here's the dilemma.
The same hospital trust is advertising a full time job. And it's as if it''s been made for me.
It's a weirdly specialised position handling radioactive isotopes in clean rooms - something I used to do.
Do I apply for the full time position?
Would I jeopardise the current job offer even if I don't get an interview?
WWYD? Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
WWID? I'd phone HR and ask if applying for a f/t position while awaiting start date for p/t position would be OK. None of what they're waiting for atm would be 'wasted' if you got the f/t position, would it? You could also get an update on progress for the p/t position while you're at it ... that would probably be my first question!Signature removed for peace of mind0

The DBS is through and scanned to them, first to a guy who failed to acknowledge the email and promptly went on annual leave and secondly to the HR lady I called yesterday asking about a start date.
When she stated that all they were looking for was the DBS, I emailed it to her and I should receive a call next week to discuss a start date.
The OH assessment went okay. Once the start date is formal, they'll jab me for Hep B, measles and Mantoux me for TB.
Needles!:huh: Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
Geesh what a carry on. Take care with it all .0

And what did they say about applying for the f/t job?Signature removed for peace of mind0

I left it. It's gone now. It's a big enough palaver getting my hands on this one....:o:huh: Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
Good luck Gingernutty x0

After an email this afternoon, asking about a start date, I received a call on my mobile (in Boots, while I was wrestling with a faulty Points machine).
I start the day after the Bank Holiday.
Of course, it was too late at that point to call OH. That'll be first thing on Monday now.
I got a start date. Finally. :j:huh: Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0
