Things seem to moving in the right direction for you, Gingernutty. Here's hoping there's more good news for you soon.0

Thanks guys. The weird thing is, I'm getting so used to this now - that I'm going into interviews expecting to fail.
It's starting to become like water off a duck's back.:huh: Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -

Sure. Like it was the last time.
So, while I was out painting a fence, I received a 'phone call from the HR of the place that's recently turned me down.
Their policy is to contact my referees and ask them if they're prepared to send the references direct to the candidate. If they aren't, only then will the HR send the candidate the references they've been sent.
As there was only one referee who wouldn't co-operate with me (see above) I gave her name.
They rang off and a few minutes later, rang back. Old TM had agreed with them that she'd send me my reference direct. They gave me a number to contact her on.
I rang and the number was redirected as she was on the 'phone.
So I've sent an email requesting my reference. I'm not holding my breath.
EDIT : I've read the reference - Yup. She's quoted that f!ckin' email. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -

:undecided Part time. :undecided
 And it's in the middle of a run of nights
And there's an accuracy and typing speed test.
Still, it's worth a try, eh? Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -

if you go in expecting to fail, you most likly will. You really need to go into a job interview with confidence that you will get the job.
The interviewers will pick up on this, if you lack confidence, they will also lack confidence in you.
Its a problem i had for so long. Have to change your way of thinking, think that as you are getting interviews, that you are on the short list, which means they are interested and that you are good enough for the job. And think of each failed interview as practice for the real thing0 -
I admire how you can stick to it, even in the face of someone I want to slap silly.
I'm sure it will get better for you but until then remember that you're in our thoughts.Debts

This should be a 'no-brainer'. I'm going to have to work on not appearing over confident.
I've had over 15 years experience working at a higher level than this in far more complex labs.
Without a degree and with the closure of the FSS and a number of other labs, lab work is rare to start with and I am up against literally thousands of lab techs who have better qualifications and more recent lab experience. I know I'm lucky to get this interview.
It's a part time lab attendant position which I should be able to do in my sleep.
Trouble is, sleep is the operative word.
I'll be clocking off at 8am, sprucing myself up, making my way to the interview at one of the other hospital trust's two sites, putting in a half hour typing and accuracy test and then being interviewed for a job before making my way home again to get enough sleep for the next 10 hour night shift.
No pressure. _pale_
And they're collecting references before the interview.:huh: Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -

And you will have rehearsed that 'minute' so that you can confidently explain why they shouldn't listen to a word in that reference, without dissing anyone.
Want to practice here?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I'd say that was good news. You get a chance to say, at interview, "I realise you may have seen a reference from X, so if I could take a minute to explain the history."
And you will have rehearsed that 'minute' so that you can confidently explain why they shouldn't listen to a word in that reference, without dissing anyone.
Want to practice here?
I'm off to London tomorrow. I'll practice when I get back. Thanks for listening. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0
