Would you lie/not tell the truth about a purchase?

Don't lie about the price. Take a tip from those QVC presenters or whoever's sold the idea to you and convince him that is a total steal at tomorrow's price:rotfl:. Men don't know the price of kitchen gadgets anyway, much the same as we're unaware of the cost of track rod ends or drive shaft couplings. Just make sure he knows it's a Kitchenaid, not a mere mixer:D0

In this household yes iti s a joint account but we have an unwritten rule that anything other than the usual food shop, household items etc we discuss, over £ we work out if we can afford it etc, I would not expect him to come home with a games console or anything expensive because we would have talked about it same as we have just done the kitchenaid minus the price:D
If he asked you if it was OK to get a gaming steering wheel for his console and you expected it to be £30 or so then found out it was £150, would you be annoyed or find it OK because he asked you, even if he didn't state the price?
The way I see it in relationships, treat your partner how you want to be treated, if I'm unsure I just flip the situation. Imagine it's him buying something and going about it in the same way, if you'd be fine with it then no problem, if you would be annoyed then ask yourself why it's OK for you to do it but not him!0 -
Are you doing a joint budget? And if so, will the purchase affect your budget and so impact on both of you?
If yes, maybe you should tell him.
If no, then it's a need to know scenario and he doesn't need to know.
ETA: as an aside, what on earth does it do for £149??? How can they justify that price for a blender??0 -
It's not just a blender bestpud, it is the daddy of kitchen appliances.

Plus a decent Kenwood can be around £200/£250. I'm tempted to ask my Dad for this tomorrow for mine and OH's Christmas, was toying with an Actifry but I'd LOVE a Kitchenaid, although is it the Artisan model does anyone know? The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Wow that looks nice and shiny! what does it do though? Is it just for making dough?0

Can someone tell me what a kitchenaid is? I feel like im missing out on something

I have to admit i always lie about the price of things, or i say that they were in the sale to make it look like i have a bargin! Things usually get left in the boot of my car until the otherhalf has gone out and i can sneak them indoors!! :rotfl:0 -
This review is from: KitchenAid K45SS Classic Stand Mixer (White) (Kitchen & Home)
I had been thinking about buying a Kitchen Aid Artisan for some time when my husband stumbled across the classic which is cheaper.
The only differences are that the Artisan is slightly more powerful, comes in different colours(The Classic only comes in white) and has a 4.8 litre capacity bowl(4 litre for the classic) with a handle and splash protector. My mother in law has an Artisan which she loves. I decided to go for the Classic and test it out. It arrived broken.
Firstly I must say that Amazon's return service is second to none. I completed the returns form on line and recieved my replacement on the same day that they collected the original.
I can't tell you how pleased I am with it. I stood it next to my Mother in Law's Artisan to compare. Honestly. Unless you are really bothered about the colour I would'nt bother spending the extra money.
Yes I know that it's much cheaper in America but so are a lot of things!
I think that if you want a really sturdy, well built practical and good looking machine that's going to last forever! this is the one0 -
Apparently it is the classic one according to my Amazon emails.
OP how do you know it is £100 off tomorrow? Based on last year's discount or another reason?
If you are basing it on last year then I wouldn't hope too much. The deals aren't as good this year as they were last year apparently.
For instance the Guylian chocolates earlier, £10 for the box. Last year £5 for the same box. Double the price.0 -

I want a coloured one, wahhh. Could be tempted though, they're supposed to be amazing. I will telephone my father and see, not sure OH really wants one of these for Christmas, but it's this which I can make him yummy food with or a new iron :eek:The frontier is never somewhere else.
