Got my new nectar card and because of some thrifty shopping managed to get 350 points added to my card on its first use. :j

Went to Tesco's at weekend. Browsing through the fresh meat aisle I couldn't see any veal so stopped an assistant to ask if they stocked it. "Veal?" she says, "is that duck?". :rotfl: After 15 mins of checking she came back to say no they didn't have any in stock. I wonder if she looked in the right place?.....

BusyGirl I'm intrigued. What's inside out pizza?

PenPen as you have tried to make appointments to go into school and have been refused, I think the school is being deliberately obstructive. I would be tempted to speak to the chairperson in the first instance and if that didn't produce results I would mention it at the next full governor's meeting. I don't see how you can possibly be doing your job as a governor if you are not allowed access to the school to see things for yourself. I'd be interested to see how things develop.

Right, I have the brand new Barbara Nadel book from the library so I'm off to have a cup of tea and a quiet read. cheery-weery.

    Afternoon everybody :hello:

Penny-Pincher!! - sorry you're not so good and OH is ill too - please let me know if there is anything I can do ((((hugs))))

    seroxat-chick - great news!

Still haven't had to return to jury service, but have to phone in again later to find out if they need me tomorrow. It's really inconvenient not knowing where I'll be for the rest of the week as I can't make any appointments at work, or anything like that.

Spent this morning at work at a corporate screening of Al Gore's film, "An Inconvenient Truth" about climate change. Very informative and worrying. However it was followed by a completely useless question and answer session during which we were all asking pertinent questions about our company's effect on the environment - and our managers were dodging them  (we are part of a multinational power company!)

    Hi everyone!
Have been off line for a couple of days so not sure what's been going on here but hugs to those who need them.
All fine here except for a cold....definitely thick as a brick today and not firing on all cylinders!
OS so far has been dark washing and cleaning the bathroom. Need to tackle the ironing which I steadfastly ignored last night [too busy booking up a very good value B&B in Dorset for when we visit the Wimborne folk festival!!] and shall have to pick up the small person plus cub chums at some point. Oh the thrills of parenthood! OH will be doing tortilla wraps with smoked salmon [finest on offer] and creme fraiche for tea.
Not much news really. OH had a reasonable dollshouse show and took a couple of orders on Sat but don't think he'll be doing that one again as didn't enjoy it atall. I meanwhile made my first batch of muffins which we are working our way through in our HM lunches. Also finally finished painting the door...bathroom woodwork is next on the list.
That I think's about it....have a fun filled and frolicsome Tuesday!

Two loads of washing is on line outside.

Dishes have been in dishwasher and DH and I have finished off the last of yesterday's home made soup.

DH and friend have put fresh silicon in shower as it has been leaking and DDs will be informed that they cannot use the shower till tomorrow morning. They will not be pleased!

Might make sausage and mash tonight as we have not had that for a while.

Have stocked up cupboards so quite pleased with myself.

    Hugs to all.

Bad day so far so just a quickie as need to get sorted! DS2 poorly again, another tummy upset, seems it's doing the rounds in school then coming back round again. 2 hour appointment with DS1 was probably the last thing I needed but it's done for the week now, back again next week.

DP has decided he wants to change his lifestyle now too, he's MR Meat and no veg in all honesty, I have to sneak veg into him, told him to do a diet record for the week and we'll go from there, see what he's eating and where we can make changes. I cook a healthy meal at tea time but the rest I gave up as he does what he pleases, especially when he's at work, even if I send sandwiches he gets something aswell usually, maybe he'll make the changes this time and stick to them. He said he was stopping smoking and didn't so that's on the list!

Right best crack on as loads of catching up to do, place is upside down and looks a little like a laundrette with all the extra washing DS2 has created!
One day I might be more organised...........

I have just decluttered our place to sell.

Basically what we have in storage is

    CDs
    Mp3 discs
    Videos
    Books
    Toiletries
    Memorabilia
    Ornaments.
    Handbags and Shoes
    Beanie Babies
    Blankets

It is mostly back up and want to find a place where we can have a room just for these items, they are mostly back ups but if you get rid of them, sods law happens.

I had a good throw out during my packing but some things may suit a new place. If it doesn't, then it will go. I started with nothing in this marriage and built up a fair collection of junk over 25 years, so get a bit sentimental and hate waste.
    An average day in my life:hello: :eek::mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T :o :rotfl: :rotfl: :p :eek::mad: :beer:

    [QUOTE=anniebookloverBusyGirl I'm intrigued. What's inside out pizza?
    [/QUOTE]

Apologies for answering myself, but that is called a Calzone, and starts off as a normal pizza but then is folded over on itself and baked, so that what would be the topping becomes the stuffing. It's not as popular as pizza though, in Italy...

Oh sorry folks, hello everyone! :j

Had a few busy days, staying away at a hotel for work reason (all paid of course ;)). Yesterday I was all day around Dorking/Guildford. Today I'm home until 4pm the will go for an all evening survey - will be travelling back home at about midnight, and I hate doing that on my own on public transport...:o

Anyway, I'm proud of my old style ways. I had £32 M&S vouchers to spend and as I do not need any more clothes and stuff, I did a good food shopping session. Lots of 3 for 2 stuff, so I make the vouchers stretch and now have supplies that should last me 2 weeks - all I need to buy is fresh milk as and when, and I have a few work lunches coming up anyway.

Glad to say that a friend of mine is getting interested in OS living - she's a notorious wastrel, but she's beginning to see that money is not an unlimited resource. My next step is to try and get her to join MSE. :D

So... I hope you all have a good day!
