    Afternoon everyone.
Iv been busy busy got everything done i wanted to.
Vivw myself and crazychik are not agruing regarding the school, it is just we are next door neighbours and out 2 sons both the same age go to different schools, and my sons trip is £9 cheaper than her sons school but it includes transport.
We just wondered how 2 schools in the same town can have such different prices for an almost identical trip??

Regarding governors, i have recently resigned off our governing body, but when i was on it i was activly incouraged to pop in uninvited and view the class rooms speak to the teachers ect, in fact it was once commented that i hadnt been in one month and was told to come in when ever i wanted to.Different schools again have such different policys.

    Hope we are all well
    Donna

I have just decluttered our place to sell.

Basically what we have in storage is

    CDs
    Mp3 discs
    Videos

    Books
    Toiletries
    Memorabilia
    Ornaments.
    Handbags and Shoes
    Beanie Babies
    Blankets

It is mostly back up and want to find a place where we can have a room just for these items, they are mostly back ups but if you get rid of them, sods law happens.

I had a good throw out during my packing but some things may suit a new place. If it doesn't, then it will go. I started with nothing in this marriage and built up a fair collection of junk over 25 years, so get a bit sentimental and hate waste.

CCStar, maybe cost a little, but if you bought a USB Hard Drive, you could put all the MP3's CD's and Videos (converted via PC) on there, and this would just be size of 1 book.

Additonally illegal of course, but you could then sell you originals!:embarasse

Have you checked all the shoes still fit and are comfortable? Mine seem to have changed and so shoes which were ideal now are not

Good afternoon - Just got home from work - phew - what a day

DLB, I guessed right at what you said ref your school, I explained this to our head this morning, but he said "that's a different school, and he cant get involved with what goes on there" - fair comment. Thats why he made the comment "is it run by the local auth!" - who cares, why couldn't they swap notes and get the best deal for all kids in the borough!

vivw Im sorry if Ive offended you in anyway regards to teaching and bad mouthing schools, it wasn't meant harsh. I totally praise all teachers/workers/helpers who are involved with school activities, as i feel as a person Im not strong enough to do anything like that. tiredmum explained it completely for me (thanks). I totally understand now-a-days with rules & regulations, teachers are restriced as to what they can/cant do. And I think its a shame the way the society is today. Usually I do involve my kids in a lot of the school activities etc, but sadly, on this one occasion - I just wanted to point out my feelings regarding the cost of the trip being offered, and the fact that we have to provide transport. This is something Ive never known before! Dont take it persoanly please. I have 100% respect for teachers.

Had a lousy morning at work, I sat and cried. Had a mars bar after talking to my ex, felt a little better, but then Blow me away, another call at 2pm. With more awfull news! Its just getting worse as times goes on for ex FIL.
They have detected a further 7 small tumors on the brain. They have given him some medication in hope to reduce the swelling on the 4 larger ones. The chest scan & other tests shows its aggressive cancer, which is spreading everywhere incl the brain. (he only got over throat cancer 7yrs ago). My ex is on his way to B'ham now, and will stay for as long as. Its not looking good, only immediate family are there at present! I so want to go, but dont want to intrude! I feel useless & helpless and crying like a s0dding baby!

Anyway, just about to do the ironing for work/school tomorrow.
Bubble & squeek for dinner tonight, with added garlic, bacon & mushrooms.
Kids have got cubs/scouts later. Will get OH to do the running about!
The sun is shining, and apart from the cold, its gorgeous outside.
    Take care for now everyone
    Love as usual

Whoo, have typed up my book :j

Currently trying to figure out our budget - its surprisingly difficult! So far I've found 3 different council tax bills, all with widely differing amounts on them - rang the office and they said they can't view the accounts, someone has to ring me back 'within 5 working days'. It's made worse by the fact that OH gets one set payment per month and another set payment per term plus whatever he gets from working, so there isn't a set-in-stone-amount we get every month.

Anyway, have started up a spending diary dated from yesterday, as thats when I went grocery shopping, plus I figure its about a month 'cos of Feb only having 28 days. Now to convince OH to use it...

    Crazychik,

So sorry to hear about youe XFIL.

Not been posting lately because I've been so busy and this will be a short one.

Re not being able to get veal I had a terrible time last week trying to get lamb's kidneys. Nowhere seems to do them any more (including the butcher where I live).

Helped DD move into her new flat at the weekend - it's strange one of my babies being a (part) home owner.

Just to say I deleted my second post about the "Clear Your Clutter" book because I thought the original post on page 4 had been lost but it hadn't. (When I clicked to send it, I got a message saying there was a temporary glitch with the forums, so I logged off!)

Crazychik - (((((HUGS))))) So sorry to hear about your ExFIL, what rotten news, and you are evidently very fond of him. Thinking of you.

Hi Ivyleaf - yes I am - very, Ive known him for 13yrs, and despite myself & ex are no longer together, I still have regular contact either by phone or visits with the ex in laws. Afterall, they are still the grandparents of our children! You couldnt ask for a better man, do anything for you, up for a laugh, laid back sense of humour! Just cant believe its happening,!!!

DH has decided to quit smoking!:j ( has tried many times due to health reasons) but he decided he needed to be a good example to DS2(aged14) who has admitted to smoking recently. I was devastated to hear he had been smoking as I have been through a lot with DH and his health issues which were partly caused by smoking and didn't want my baby to have to suffer like his Dad.I just hope he can do it!

DS1 due back later from his first overnight conference, will be eagerly awaiting his arrival to find out how it went for him.

Better get the washing in off the line.

    Take care all xxx
