Too late now, I've filed my claim. I was tempted to pay my £30 court charges using my MINT card (poetic justice) but, in true MSE style, I used my new MSP card, so I get 3% cashback!

I received the Notice of Issue in today's post. The claim was filed on 09/05 and will be deemed to have been served on 14/05. MINT have until 28/05 to respond or, if they acknowledge the claim, until 11/06. The wheels of justice grind slow, but grind exceeding small.

It's getting a bit lonely out here on the end of this thread. ... hello? ... anyone? ...

  • hi

Just thought Id post my success with mint - I claimed £778.80 + court cost
and I received a cheque from RBS this morning for £858.80 :T :T

their letter says that 'it is not commercially viable to defend the claim'. Im two weeks into MCOL and no defence posted, so i will write to the court to cancel everything.

the moral - hold out, they will pay!

    good luck everyone!

I currently have a Mint Credit Card, if I reclaim charges from them will they close my account and insist that I pay off the balance. Would like to reclaim the charges and have it paid off the card account, but couldn't afford to pay it off if they were to close my account.

    Advice please x

They can only close your credit card account if you've breached the credit agreement you have with them. They can't close it purely because you claimed your charges back as that would be them breaching the agreement.

They'd also be losing out on the profits generated by the interest you pay.
Hamsters have no tact and diplomacy, nor do they want any.

Like the previous poster I have just filed my claim against Mint for just short of £200 with Moneyclaim using my Mint card.

Luckily I have no balance on the card (apart from the £30 claim fee of course) so as soon as they pay up I'm cancelling the card.

    I'll keep you posted.

    Mint so far.....................
I wrote to them middle of April asking for a list of all the charges on my account, they only offered me a settlement figure of £25. The funny thing is though, they didn't include a list of my charges but seemed to have proceeded to keep my £10 cheque. Think I will be declining this very small amount and asking again for a list of my charges.

for my OH, his fees totalled £256 but they offered him £59, again, as I will be the one sorting this out, I will decline on his behalf, he got a list of his charges though!!!!

Think mint are a bit confused on what they are doing!!!!

also, quick question...........the fees of £12 would you try and get them back?

    Hi
I managed to get a £12 "late payment charge" reclaimed of them, when i never recieved my statement and my payment date was dragged forward, i wrote them a letter asking them to justify the charge as no one had contacted me.
