I suspect we might not see anything until next month, if we've finished the july/august data. Which is a b~@:"£$! because I was expecting this extra income to help recoup after being kicked off the WSE thing and missing a month's work.
  • First of all,I was lurking on here yesterday and I found this thread very informative.Between this thread and threads on WAHM,I've found way more information on Appen and other WSE jobs than I've ever found on reddit.I have a question, though.I don't have any degrees and I want to try to apply to a WSE job or something similar.Would this be possible or should I just give up?The thing is that I started crowdsourcing today through Appen.I logged on to UHRS and I was a bit disappointed,as there are the same jobs up that I can do through Clickworker.I thought I would have more jobs opened up to me by working through Appen.Should I try to apply to Lionbridge? They don't necessarily require that you have I degree if I remember correctly.
  • You don't need to have a degree to do any of the search evaluator jobs. It's really about if you 'get it' or not, and usually most of us don't 'get it' when it comes to Appen's rating system. Good luck either way though, they are still actively hiring afaik.

I wasn't expecting the last batch to go so quickly :( I hope they upload some more soon.

  • Apparently the client will be uploading more data early next week. I was also disappointed how quickly that batch went!!

Thanks for the info, a shame we have to wait a full week :(

  • I really doubt anyone's ever going to see that 10% bonus if the batches don't last more than a day! This is the effect of having a big long gap with no work, everyone jumps on at once when it comes.
  • How did you all get offered transcription work? I've done a couple of bits for them in the past but i haven't been emailed anything since the google glass project.

I don't have a degree either and have just completed the pre-assessment. Probably failed it lol, but at least it shows they aren't just interested in people with degrees.
