Yes its not looking good for me on the audits either, nice week off next week then! Now that I know my stats are basically wrecked already it means there's really little reason for me to put effort in. Except maybe put in some extra hours to make the most of this payment period. After that, will probably spend next week working out how to best wean myself off ABH without losing too much cash.
  • I've been doing some of the extra hours lately, doing that tripe on a saturday is soul destroying.. can't manage more than 2 hours.

For me, i already feel removed. I've tried slowing down to improve my scores and concentrating more.. but when it comes to what are increasingly cut-throat and borderline audits i'm not a mind reader - rating to an interpretation of the guidelines that is largely inaccurate.

I'd rather not do it at all than be some machine that researches everything, scours every page.. it's mind numbing enough when you hardly care.

Oh, excellent, an email about a paycut..
  • Hope that's the worst of it this year. I was pretty unlucky when i joined in 2012 it was cut then and the metrics incentive finished at the same time. Probably tell us the metrics are being tightened next :lipsrseal

Totally outrageous if pay is being cut.

In fact, it's a double hit for UK raters because the £ has dramatically fallen against the $.

To be honest, I have come to the conclusion Appen are quite a hideous company to work for, and I don't see the outlook being good for them in the long-term, at least in the UK market.

I wish everyone still working for them the best though - you have my complete respect, not least for being better at the managing the metrics than I was!

Yeah, I'm in the same boat with pay falling because of the rates, but I'm with LF. The pound has actually strengthened against the dollar drastically, which reduces the amount we receive. It is at a 5-year high. We need the pound to do really badly and we'll get a nice pay rise.

Looks like I wont be worrying about that wage drop from now on - just got my termination from ABH! Slightly miffed because now I don't get to send an 'I quit' email. :p For anyone interested, my total removals was 5 times, same as MallRat I believe.

The question is whether to go for Lionbridge or Leapforce next. Considering I've already some work with the Lions, Leapforce is looking interesting for variety..

Edit: I have to say, the wording of the email is incredibly cheesy.

Seriously, it's brilliant, and I think they're making great strides to improve their rater feedback and review system, not to mention their community involvement. If you've read reviews from former raters in the past, discard them, as a lot has changed (even in the small time I've been there).

Here's my personal referral link, if you fancy using it.

Or the non-referral one here: https://www.leapforceathome.com/qrp/public/jobs/list

Any questions you might have, hop into the LF thread.
