I can't see where anyone is blaming the children.
People have talked about punishing him, said IF he is telling the truth, talked about wasting police time.
You said, "They can both stick to a story, does not mean they are telling the truth, it would seem odd that a stranger would perform such actions without any kind of provocation" Sounds like you are suggesting the story isn't very convincing. It doesn't matter if the boys were fighting, messing around or anything else an adult has no right pushing an 11 year old around.

You were not there either, so how do you know the vehicle driver was strange?
I have seen kids fooling about whilst driving and I have stopped to ask if they were fooling around or not.
What if in the case of the OP her lad was being beaten up and people were just passing by ignoring it, cos they thought they were just kids folling about, you would still be whinging that nobody bothered to intervene.
Intervening doesn't have to mean pushing the lad around. I have intervened when I have seen a child being bullied on more than one occasion but I have never laid hands on the kids concerned.Sell £1500

Sounds to me like he saw 11yo boys play fighting and thought it something more (even if it wasn't). My 11yo son had a fall out with his best friend last week on the way home from school and the friend threw a drink over my son. A woman who lives near the school then followed my son 1/3rd of the way home trying to catch up with him to ask him if he was ok and that she was happy to report the incident to the school. Son thanked but declined her offer. 2 hours later friend came round to apologise and ask if son wanted to go to scouts with him. 11 year old boys!!!!!!!!!0

You were not there, so you do not know if they were pushed or not, why not think of the whole episode logically. If the van is driving along the road, then the fraction of a second to pass a bus stop is not enough time to
1) notice what may or may not be going on
2) stop in an instant
there must have been a queue of traffic building up behind the van
If the incident was so serious, then the Police would have been acting a lot swifter, all we can do is wait and see if assult charges are made and a court hearing transpires.
Because I'm sure as the protective parent you are, if someone done that to your child whether provoked or not, then you would not leave it to a telling off of the assailant.0 -
I can't believe why so many people blame the child and why people think it is a waste of police time.
I remember when I was at school, many years ago, a girl came into school. Teacher was shouting at her and she explained she had been abducted by a man on the way home from school the night before and had then spent some hours at Police Station so she had slept in. Teacher told her not to tell lies, stop being silly etc etc. She looked a bit silly herself half an hour or so later when a Police Officer arrived to ask the girl a couple of questions to clarify something.
I would always give a child the benefit of the doubt, if it comes out that he is lying that can be dealt with but in the meantime I would trust him.
Oh Please! You are telling us a child was abducted by a man the night before, spent hours at the police station, slept in accordingly and the child's parents sent her off to school the next day without even speaking to her teacher????This is a system account and does not represent a real person. pushing an 11 year old around, or physically seperating him from the other 11 year old he's punching? would you drag two boys apart, or a man beating a woman ( or vice versa) ? of course you would...well I would! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Why not? perhaps like other posters on this thread they 'assumed' the child was lieing?0
