    Debt-free and Proud!
    Morning all, oops afternoon all!

Finally got the chance to do a bit of debt busting, not much though:(

Have just paid £20 off catalogue. DH is going to pay the credit card this month as my wage is a low one this month (and he does use it too) My loan payment goes out of my account by DD on 1st of the month.

    So that's a measly £20/6583 but every little helps!:o

OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!! My credit card bills arrived today!! 2 of them!!! I'm so HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPY!!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: but blinking typical they turn up on a saturday lunchtime so I dont have time to go to town before the bank shuts, and monday is market day   how will I cope with not being able to pay money to my creditors!!!!

On a side note, my husband lied to me . . . yes LIED!!! his brake pads did not cost £50 as he told me (and I added to my debt figure) but £86   how rude is that!!! BUT I do have the money from his sealed pot to pay it so its all good :rotfl: and there is even enough left after his bill to give DS a few ££'s to go get his dad, me and his sister a gift . . . at 10 I think hes old enough to do his own christmas shopping but not quite old enough to pay for it :D so he gets £5 for each of us

    Information Post
Hi all, just thought I'd help out some of the newbies who may be a bit confused or unsure of things to help them on the forum. I know I was confused when I first started on here!!!
    1) if you want to keep a track of a thread (such as this one) then you can subscribe to it. Subscribing will mean that you can just go straight to the thread (from a list of your subscribed threads) without having to search the forum for it. To do this all you have to do is go onto the thread (any page will do), click Thread Tools (just under the page numbers on the right hand side and it's in the green block bit) , then click Subscribe to this Thread. You can do this with as many threads as you like (I currently am subscribed to 12!!!). You can also either have instant email notifications (i.e. as soon as someone posts then you get an email as the thread has been added to), weekly emails or no emails (there may be a few more options but I can't remember them all!). To view your subscribed threads then just click on Quick Links on the next big green block up from the page numbers on the right hand side and there is a Subscribed Threads link. You can access the Quick Links from any part of the forum so you don't have to wait until you are in the DFW forum.
    2) if you want to put smileys on your post then all you have to do is click on the Go Advanced button and this takes you to a screen where you have a choice of smileys on the right hand side. There is a U]More[/U option underneath where there are loads more to choose from including my favourite, lovely Xmas trees!!! :xmastree:
    3) if you want to make your text bigger then again you will need to go onto the Go Advanced page to do this.
    4) there is a lot of jargon on this forum that is hard to understand sometimes so here's a link to a very informative DFW Dictionary https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/672601

I'll keep adding to it as I think of more...

    This thread ROCKS!! :T:T:T:T:T:T:T

I know, it's a great feeling isn't it. Instead of feeling shame and embarrassment and being overwhelmed and upset I feel like it's a game and that I CAN do this. It's frightening actually thinking back on how I used to spend money only a few weeks ago before joining MSE again in October...

Wish I'd picked a better username but had no idea I'd start something like this!

I'm so happy that this thread has helped you in chaging your way of thinking. I felt that if it just helped one other person besides me then it would be worth it but you are all proving it time and time again. I'm so proud of you all :Axxx

I'm feeling very positive today. I keep trying to get the thought out of my head that i'm only going to be able to manage to pay off 10k but even if i do it's a mega step from a girl who only 4 years ago had her head so deep in the sand and had racked up 7 yes 7! defaults and one CCJ. Thank heavens i am half way through them and paying them off.

Hope Saturday is treating you well :D:D:D:D
    In debt no more!
