Wow this moves fast... what a fabulous lot of motivation you are :jI'm going to pay something towards a debt tonight, I'm too annoyed with Lloyds to not spend some money so may as well do it to pay off some debt
Now that's a marvellous plan to fix spending itches. I might try doing thatWe've got a weekly mini-challenge to keep people focused, I let you know what this is at lunchtime on Mondays and it runs from 1am Tuesday - 12:59 the following Tuesday.
This weeks mini-challenge: No buying chocolate or sweets ,put the money towards debt instead
Didn't spot this in time but suspect it would have been a heck of a challenge. However... I have managed not to buy crisps this week so now won't until after Tues as a sort of replacement challenge!I thought as everyone was offering up their MSE words of wisdom and someone mentioned about emotion shopping, id share mineWhen im depressed I bake :rotfl: It helps that I love to cook, but seriously if im not very happy I get the scales out and do baking for the family
as its basically free as ive got all the stuff and takes my mind off my problems and makes pickable food for the family that keeps THEM away from the co-op chocolate aisle (or in DH's case the petrol station chocolate )
Biscuits are always a winner as they are just flour, butter and caster sugar which most people have floating around in their cupboards, ive used utterly butterly, I cant believe, real butter . . . pretty much any spread that ive had in the fridge :rotfl:
That's a lovely idea - have been thinking that if I need to be doing something then cooking should be it, as I finally have time to cook from scratch.
Well you have already inspired me to finally start a diary to keep track of things...
and on payday I have made a dent of
£510/£11,195 ... that's 4.6% paid already :j

How does this work with payments and interest? Obviously if I make a £50 payment to Credit Card A, it's not £50 off my total debt, as some of that £50 gets eaten up with interest?
I think I'm just going to make my payments as normal, and every month update my total once I get my new credit card bills with the revised balance on. Tedious, but accurate, I guess. Does mean I'll have to wait a few weeks after making payments before my new totals show.Long haul supporter #290POAYDBX2014 #043LBM Dec 2011 Debt £51K Debt Nov 2014 £42K0 -

I think that's a really good idea and it will only be the first month which seems to take longer after that you'll be on an even keal. You could always post your progress as you make it - in normal print and then when you get your statements you can make it official. You're just changing the excitement from the point you make the payment to the point when you receive the official statement!
I'm off for some guilt free Christmas shopping, for the first time ever I've managed to save enough to cover Christmas completely so I can now nip into Costa for a seasonal coffee and cake and just enjoy rather than worry that I've wasted £7 odd :rotfl: (I probably still will though - this money saving gets addictive)
Good luck to everyone for the weekend, it's such a danger zone but stay strong and we'll all feel like :A on Monday :j0 -
roll on monday when i can finally pay a little off my debt and put it on here, great that i feel the need to update as it is spurring me on and i would normally just say sod it i will pay that bill later i need christmas stuff but no i am determined to get even the smallest amount paid off so i can head in the right direction to try and be debt free by this time next year...........x0

Today we are spending the day at home meal planning then going to the park instead of our planned trip out to a Christmas market and yankee candle shop for new christmas stuff - i can cope without that right
lol Saving approx. £70 going off trips in previous years. May go before christmas is done so the kids can see santa, but usually, weekend after payday is when we go!
