    Hello,

I'd like to join this challenge please. I've been lurking for ages and tried a few challenges before and not stuck to them. This thread is really inspiring though, so hoping it will be different this time!
    Ok, so current debt -
    Nationwide personal loan - £5191
    Nationwide overdraft - £1200
Post Office credit card - £789

Total - £7180 - this will be nearly £600 a month in repayments, and I currently manage half of that, but I'm determined to clear as much as I can!

Thanks to everyone who started this thread :)

    Love Your Libraries - they're moneysaving! :T

Oops... !!! Will do it now for you, sorry hun (I know kerri, that's 10p in the sorry box...!;)) xxx
    hahahaha I spotted it ;)

You lot were amazing on my shopping trip to Oxford Street on my way home this evening. I was trying stuff I don't need on and thinking "oooh that looks nice", but then you lot were all staring at me, and I didn't want to come on by saying "guess what I've bought loads of stuff I don't need this evening" so I put it all back on the shelves in each of the shops. Even the £4 haberdashy poppers went back :rotfl: I just didn't want to have to come and apologise for slipping.

:T:T:TThanks you lot, that saved me about £60 that I don't have. Whoop whoop :T:T:T

Welcome new people. *waves* don't forget the mini challenge this week is to not buy choc or crisps. I have a really good mini challenge for you all from Tuesday next week :) It should be obtainable and rewarding for all of you.

  • Hi all,

I've been reading the thread and have been quite undecided as to whether or not I could join....I've decided to go for it (if that's ok?)even if I can't manage all of our debt at least this will be a focus and will hopefully keep me on track, so here we go.

£2999 Bank Loan aiming to pay off in January
£477 Isme Catalogue aiming for January/February
£872 CC 1 23% apr aiming to pay off in February
    £6000 CC 2 0% (22 months)
    £10,372 CC 0% (16 months)

plus £400 on a supposedly buy now pay later with Very yet they seem to be charging me £3.95 a month for something - so that may jump up the list of priorities once I get some answers this weekend

That leaves me with a total of
    £21,120.00

Which is horrific however we started with LBM of £27110 + which means we've paid off 22% and if I can stay on target it also means that all our debt will be on 0% so every penny will be maximised. Minimum payments will clear £2905 and by February I hope to have cleared £4348 which should hopefully mean an absolute minimum overall payment of £7253 :) still seems an awful lot of debt to clear in twelve months though especially if I want to stay sane. I suspect I'll be spending a lot of time on here!

So in true Scout Leader fashion I will promise to do my best! :rotfl:
