I need to find an extra £479.29 per month above the £620.71 I already pay, total of £1,100 per month!

Hey IWN, noticed that you've got that you've paid off £120 in your signature for the 100days challenge, does this need to come off this challenge total too? xxx

  • Hi all :j

I've been away with work so not had a chance to update you all! Glad to see you are all making progress - everyone is so determined and it's great to see!! :T

A bit about me - I had a total of £23,000 in debt a few years ago  as of October it was down to £10,678! I'm determined to get rid of this by xmas 2012!!!

I have been really lucky (for a change lol) since October! I have been given a 'temporary' promotion for a few months which means I get more to pay into debts! I'm sooo happy! Also I got paid my extra overtime this month (I've been working my butt off for it for 3 months now!) and got an extra £2100 in my November pay (which I got today) so.. all into debt for me!! :T

Can I update my total please (which takes off my October and November wage - both normal payments and extra payments as I've not been on to update these - sorry).. I have paid 3,162.43/£10,678 (30%) which leaves a total of £7,516.29

I cannot explain how this feels! I have had so much bad luck for years and now finally I have a chance to get myself out of (my self made!!) mess!!

Good luck everyone and I'll keep updating you all!

Hi all, just thought I'd help out some of the newbies who may be a bit confused or unsure of things to help them on the forum. I know I was confused when I first started on here!!!
    1) if you want to keep a track of a thread (such as this one) then you can subscribe to it. Subscribing will mean that you can just go straight to the thread (from a list of your subscribed threads) without having to search the forum for it. To do this all you have to do is go onto the thread (any page will do), click Thread Tools (just under the page numbers on the right hand side and it's in the green block bit) , then click Subscribe to this Thread. You can do this with as many threads as you like (I currently am subscribed to 12!!!). You can also either have instant email notifications (i.e. as soon as someone posts then you get an email as the thread has been added to), weekly emails or no emails (there may be a few more options but I can't remember them all!). To view your subscribed threads then just click on Quick Links on the next big green block up from the page numbers on the right hand side and there is a Subscribed Threads link. You can access the Quick Links from any part of the forum so you don't have to wait until you are in the DFW forum.
    2) if you want to put smileys on your post then all you have to do is click on the Go Advanced button and this takes you to a screen where you have a choice of smileys on the right hand side. There is a U]More[/U option underneath where there are loads more to choose from including my favourite, lovely Xmas trees!!! :xmastree:
    3) if you want to make your text bigger then again you will need to go onto the Go Advanced page to do this.
    4) there is a lot of jargon on this forum that is hard to understand sometimes so here's a link to a very informative DFW Dictionary https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/672601

I'll keep adding to it as I think of more...

Sure, I was going to update only once per month, but might as well do it each payment to try and keep the morale high!

    £120/£15,626

    Thanks mf0u1098 :)

Thank you!! I'm so proud of myself! I've had this debt for so long that I didn't think I would ever get to reduce it!

I'll be tired with all the work between now and Christmas 2012 but it will be soooo worth it! I've also moved back to live with my parents which isn't easy but I want to be debt free so I'll be fine!

It's good to see everyone doing so well!!:T

    xx
