Like i said if he stays in his house i would be £100 a week better off.
BUT now i will just have to do a few extra hopurs in Overtime and i will be ok, sure as hell beats spending a nite alone.
All im saying is it is wrong, that single mothers get MORE and its quite alot.
Did you feel this way when you were a single mother? Did you tell the government that you thought you were getting more than you deserved?:j Egypt 10th May - Here we come!!!:j0 -
My husband and I are DINKies and pay out more than £3k a month in tax and national insurance.
We don't use the NHS (private health)
Don't use schools
Pay yet more tax on cars, petrol, insurance, and VAT on almost everything.
We may never have children so could spend our working lives subsidising others' and never benefitting from the money we pay out in tax and NI.
There are no benefits to us being a couple (in tax terms) so I don't understand why there should be for others?:A MSE's turbo-charged CurlyWurlyGirly:A

You must understand that all your valuable TAX AND NI Contributions goes back into the budget, yes i do also feel your frustration as some people cheat and sponge off of benefits. But its all very cleverly designed that that higher earners support the lower earners, thats why the government want single skilled workers from the EU earning at least £26k per annum, so they can support our lazy workers.0 -

Has your bf notified CSA of his change in circumstances? If not, he needs to as his assessment should change. Is he on the old or the new system? if on the new, then his assessment will reduce unless his income has increased by 15% since he had his last assessment. This reduction will help your household income.0 -
How many children do you have? Your nursery fees seem very high if it is 1 child - but I'm just assuming it is!! It may be 3!0

If your expecting your boyfriend to pay half your nursery fees which are £500 per month and for children which arn't his !! Why would you begrudge him some equity in your home if you split up ?0

Welcome to the real world. It is wrong, (although saying that I am aware that women don't always ask or plan to be on their own.) but that's the way it is.
I am in the future you know...
...9 hours ahead to be exact !:D0 -

The ONLY reason you are seeing less is because of the way you and your partner are dividing up the money you have. And it is certainly NOT the governments fault that you both cant share your income !!!
And Single mothers do not get more, from what you have said you and your partner are getting nearly 50k between you !0 -
I don't actually understand why any couple thinks they should be entitled to ANYTHING to pay for nursery places.
I would consider myself very fortunateif I was given anything.
If it's £1200 per month, wouldn't it be better to just get an evening and/or weekend job (when presumably your OH is around for the children) and don't pay any childcare fees?
As someone else has said, this is two-parent families. It's the norm!(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0
