Can you bake tatties in a log / coal fire in the house? I tried this once, wrapped in tinfoil but they turned out rubbish. Not sure if they needed longer or if the fire doesn't get hot enough (like outdoor fires).

I didn't answer earlier because I don't know for sure... but I have to say that I don't really see why it shouldn't work. However you do have to give some thought to how long you need to give them to cook properly. For taters done in bonfires we always used to bury them in the embers so that they were surrounded... if you put them ON a log fire I'm pretty sure that they will need longer.

Let's face it, it's hard to seriously over cook a baked tater :)

    Gizza clue :)

Are you wanting it in a sandwich? Put it into a muffin? Dish it up with Christmas dinner...?

Sorry I knew what I was talking (writing ) about and assumed everyone else did as well!!!!

Jamie was cooking Turkey Wellington and used Cranberry Jam as a filling in the turkey breast. My jar is dated 2007 (don´t ask) and I didn´t want to give everyone food poisoning. Out here in Spain I can´t get fresh or even dried cranberrys and I´m too mean to buy a new jar when I only need a spoonful or two.
Do you think some plum jam mixed with sour cherries might be OK.? All suggestions welcomed

Erm... ye-es... though olive oil is quite strongly flavoured and it may show through in your popcorn.

Having said that - these sites seem very happy to use it! Good luck :)

    Hi :)

One level teaspoon of garlic granules should roughly equal a clove...

The ginger paste should be about right...

One ounce is roughly twenty five grams... so 50g would be fine.

The recipe will be fairly forgiving, so I wouldn't worry too much :)
