Hi have you paid this parking ticket because the same thing happenened to my wife.

It's not a parking ticket and only a mug or seriously uninformed person would pay any private parking ticket. Have you read the whole thread and all the sticky threads at the top of the forum? Seen the Watchdog video, understood it's a scam?

Can I ask if you have read the stickies at the top of the page ?. The bit after your signature specifically says:

If you weren't the driver simply state that, as the owner, you're not liable for any costs, and you're not prepared to state who was driving and are under no obligation to do so. Hopefully, that'll get the message across and they won't contact you again. It's best to do this in writing so you have a record of what was said.

    Thats Martins advise !!.

Your own signature "they're often unenforceable"

    The letter templates ?

And then you have the posters who get p*ss*d of and abusive towards Newbies when they ignore their "advise" which is completely different than the above ?

Its no wonder 75% of people end up paying these invoices. It's also a shame that a site such as this has so much conflicting advise and stickies that are pages long and take an age to go through. Yet a site such as Pepipoo manages to get clear, concise and accurate information over in 3 simple posts.

You're a laugh aren't you? Did you mean to be so critical or are you just reading the wrong things?

I only quote the relevant wording from Martin Lewis to show people that it's not just us anonymous posters who are saying this is a scam industry. I have chosen my 'quote' carefully but I am hardly going to clip my quote to the extent that it doesn't actually reflect what Martin said.

And I don't tell people to read his full article nor to consult the old template letters. Yet for some strange reason you've gone to his old article and quoted the irrelevant part? Why? You are the first person I know of who has taken issue with me quoting Martin Lewis about this scam and seems to think it means to go and read an ancient MSE piece. In fact the quote in my sig was taken from his article in a national newspaper in 2009.

If you read my signature I tell people to read the forum by clicking 'Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking' (the blue link at the top of the page). I used to have the link in my signature but it was removed by the forum team even though it only took people back a step to the whole current forum view!

And you say that 'stickies are pages long'...are you looking for some reason at 'ParkRight' which is primarily about Council tickets?! We only tell people to read the 2 Crabman stickies, 'PPC letter chains' and 'welcome, please read before posting'. The latter is just one post and it's closed, so couldn't be clearer, surely?!

And the former is usually kept to ONE page but newbies keep posting there. Crabman does remove unneeded posts when he gets time but the letter-chains thread does need to remain unlocked, for new letter-chains to be shown.

And those 2 stickies are the ones we tell people to read, so I don't get why you have a problem here. We never tell people to read 'Park Right' or Martin's article, no do we tell them to use a template. If you are having trouble finding the right places to read on this huge forum community please ask and we can show you links. You do not have to read the old archived article stuff on this site, I really don't know why you have when you have been here nearly a year and have nearly 200 posts?

Bear in mind pepipoo is a zillion times smaller and more specialist than MSE so it may well be easier to negotiate - once you are on the right board there. Pepipoo just a few headings all about motoring issues. By contrast, here are all the MSE forum headings in case you have missed any (and within each one there are literally thousands of threads):

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/index.php

And pepipoo is a great site but their stickies include a link to...our 'PPC letters, what to expect' thread - a nice simple and neat link for them!

And your contribution to these 3 simple posts has been?

Pepipoo is in essence a single-purpose forum and is used primarily to obtain information and guidance from its contributing experts and those who have relevant experience. MSE, as a whole, by contrast encourages a more community-based approach with information being shared in a collaborative fashion. Sympathetic (sometimes the opposite) and encouraging posts are very much the norm here whereas on Pepipoo you, generally, don't post unless you have something useful or relevant to add - giving a simple +1 is pretty much frowned upon.

MSE caters for a far, far wider audience and this sub-forum is no different in terms of its access. People may dip in and out as they please. Attempting to compare here with Pepipoo is akin to comparing Jeremy Kyle, shall we say, with Jeremy Paxman. They may both interview people on television however each has its own style; cater for entirely different audiences but are equally as relevant as each other. Its a question of horses for courses.

The majority of posters frankly do not need anything other than the advice they receive here - though many sometimes doubt it. Directing everyone to Pepipoo will ultimately prevent those who really need expert advice (those few who receive court papers) from getting it either at all or in time. Running down the advice given here will not assist either although I appreciate that you are simply expressing your opinion rather than doing so for the hell of it.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

    You've noticed it to?

As I've tried, unsuccesfully, to explain several times, this situation is not just about the parking ticket per se, but also very much about resolving the situation at Milton Keynes, which if done, could/would prevent people from getting into this situation in the first place.

From the people who have posted on here, the number of PM's I have received, and also from our friends and neighbours locally, we know for certain that there is a problem that needs resolving.

    Prevention is better than cure.

My post was not a personal dig at you ,but my intention was to point out the conflicting advise given on this forum. Regardless of the age of the information it is available one click away for new posters visiting the site. I referred to your signature as it states that the invoices are
"often unenforceable", . they either are, or are not enforceable. you seem to work tirelessly trying to help people, but it seems the majority of newbies leave unhappy either to pay or seek information elsewhere.
One has to ask why ?

Why do you think 'the majority of newbies leave unhappy either to pay or seek information elsewhere'?

I can't recall the last person who said they were going to pay.

Can't recall people going elsewhere - we tend direct people to pepipoo if it's a Council ticket as they have a busy sub-forum with experts on hand. But with fake PCNs, nope, we answer every query and from what we see most learn it's a scam and ignore it all. Some then join the ranks here to advise others.

What are you saying is one click away? Martin's old article? Is it? And why would any newbies look for it, let alone find it? The only people we know of who find the article first are those who have found it from a random Google search - not after coming to this forum.

    Did I claim ownership ?
Regardless of the site information should be clear and non-conflicting.
It seems that on this sub forum when advise is ignored (even when the right result is achieved) the posters are subject to a tirade of verbal abuse, which in my mind totally unnecessary.

You yourself referred the op of this thread to another which the sole content was regular posters bi***ing about OPs ignoring advice.
