That's the problem with society today; it always has to be somebody else’s fault, never yours because you made an incorrect and unfounded assumption, when other evidence was clearly available.
Or perhaps you should blame it on my chemistry professor who gave me the ‘nickname’.
I only hi-lited it to illustrate the level of assumption and lack of comprehension going on in this thread, not just by you.
It just goes to show, not everything is always as it seems.0 -
If you want to take action, I would recommend getting together with people who have also been stung at this location and writing a joint letter demanding recompense for harassment and time wasted. If one of you has a full letter chain that would be useful.
Then you would have to stump up £25 each to make a county court claim and request that one be seen as a test case (class actions are not really applicable in this country).
Another option is to engage Trading Standards, but this is a very hit and miss affair.
Apart from taking decisive action, there is little you can do, which is why people are employing you to ignore. NCP will laugh in your face, short of taking court action against them.0 -
petal1 has a point.
PPC's exist because a sizeable majority do not come on forums such as this, and are intimidated into paying instead of ignoring.
In the case of the MK parking NCP obviously knew about the problems long ago and chose to do nothing as it would reduce their revenue stream.
By making a fuss (instead of quietly ignoring) petal1 et al have hit NCP in the pocket. Surely this is good ?
Ignoring a PPC invoice is sound advice, but where you have a chance to take the fight into their camps you should do it.0 -

Basically I agree with you, although I felt the best approach was to tackle the owners, rather than the rather iintransigent NCP Ltd.
The last thing CentreMK want, is a lot of disgruntled shoppers, as it would reduce the the revenue for the shopping centre.
As many people rightly say, you are unlikely to get anywhere with NCP, but the CentreMK is NCP's customer, so NCP should listen to them.
Whilst I care about this situation, I don't think I care quite enough to start a court action, but in this case I do believe in the impact of numbers, i.e. the more that complain to the owners etc.
This would also seem to be the the kind of approach 'oldone' is suggesting.0 -

Like parking in a private car-park displaying a Council ticket for example.
In the absence of any clarification, one can only reasonably assume that he (or should that be she?) had their reasons.Or perhaps you should blame it on my chemistry professor who gave me the ‘nickname’.0 -
What did the local press say when you contacted them about this?0

Last month my wife was issued with a PCCN by NCP at Milton Keynes shopping centre, stating she had not displayed a valid ticket. My wife had purchased a ticket for the period she was there from the nearest ticket machine, and it was clearly displayed on the dashboard.
Apparently NCP took over responsibility of policing the car park the month before (September).
According to some of the postings here, we have apparently made the first fundamental error, and entered into the appeals process.
Predictably, the appeal was turned down, with the following reasoning.
“Whilst I appreciate you have purchased a pay and display ticket, this is only valid in Council Car Parks. Please be advised National Car Parks operate in private car parks and therefore I cannot accept this as valid payment for Milton Keynes 2.”
My wife says she was not aware of any differentiation of ownership or policing between the location she parked, and the machine. Also, there is no indication on the ticket who is the issuer.
We would be very grateful for any comments/opinions/advice about this situation.
Hi have you paid this parking ticket because the same thing happenened to my wife.0 -
