NCP say wrong ticket bought at Milton Keynes

To any newbies reading this, just to make it clear, the regular forum posters say IGNORE any private parking ticket because it's a scam from an industry run by cowboys, whatever the circumstances. No-one here condones bad parking or not paying in a P&D car park but we do all sing from the same hymn sheet when we tell you to ignore any fake PCN (anything from a private firm that does not have Council logo nor the word 'penalty' on it).

But fair enough, this is petal1's thread and she has had success by dealing with the matter more directly. Either way it does not matter as there is no 'parking ticket' to get 'cancelled'. So please do not panic.

So if the direct route works for you, fine.

If the ignore route works for you, also fine.

Either way, DO NOT PAY THE FAKE PCN.

I have never advocated paying a ticket.

I have said if the appeals failed I would ignore it.

I have stated the purpose of this post is to bring to the attention of others the potential traps at Milton Keynes.

I have stated that this situation is limited only to Milton Keynes and NCP.

Finally I believe that because many people have brought it to their attention, CentreMK (owners) and NCP are reacting to the problem, and if they do, and it means less people are caught out, then I shall feel justified in taking the approach I and others have, despite the narrow minded abuse and assumptions thrown at me.

IT IS NOT ABOUT TRYING TO LEAD "NEWBIES" UP THE WRONG PATH, IT IS ABOUT A PROBLEM AT MILTON KEYNES.

You refer to me as she, yet the third and fourth word of my first post says "my wife". Work it out if you can.

Quite honestly I don't think any of your posts have been supportive, as my primary point is constantly ignored by you and others, IT'S NOT ABOUT WHETHER TO PAY THE TICKET OR NOT. It's about the situation at CentreMK and how to succesfully deal with it, and bring it quickly to an end.

It's the fault of your username...one would assume petal1 is female and one would not normally re-read the entire thread when replying to a post on a forum.

For some reason a lot of people assume I am male as my user-name is neither male nor female and my stance on PCNs is pretty militant! But I don't have a go at people on here who call me 'mate' by mistake.

As I said, I do support your stance in spite of you having a go at our standard advice which you called 'ill-found' (it is not) and which you painted as 'getting away with a parking ticket' (it is neither 'getting away with' anything nor is it even a 'parking ticket'). None of us had a go at you about those words even though they were indeed ill-founded.

And there's no need for you to shout (caps lock).

The reason I added a post for newbies is because they can sometimes panic and from your posts, may have incorrectly got the impression that it's a real parking ticket, which it isn't. God forbid they might have then paid if they couldn't 'get it cancelled'. I wanted to tell them, whichever approach they decide to take (yours or ours) re fake PCNs in Milton Keynes, whatever they do they must not fall for the scam and pay.

NCP allowed an appeal and are dealing with a problem that exists at this car park! Being a fair and ethical company write and ask them when they became aware of the problem and how many tickets they have issued while they problem has existed.
Then ask them since the tickets should not have been issued, are they going to refund all that have been paid? Or have they allowed every appeal.

As far as saying if we all parked correctly then we would not get tickets. Shows you don't really know how PPC's work. They are not there to control car parks they are there to generate money. They will find a problem!

Why don't you just follow the advice on here and ignore the stupid demands from NCP? That's a much better plan than trying to engage with the parking company. That way you will save time, energy and money.
