Someone out there must be able to help me. My washing machine takes forever to wash a load. I have a Bosch 1100, and on a 40 degree wash the shortest programme is approx 1 and a half hours !!! I can do a quick cold wash which takes 30 mins, but it doesnt work on grubby whites and doesn't spin as fast so everything is really really wet, it's meant for woollies really.
I want to buy a new machine that does a 40 degree but faster. Only trouble is when I look at all the washing machines there is all the info on enconomy and water consumption etc. but no mention of programme lengths. i have to ask the salesman for the manual and they loo at me like i'm a bit nuts !!
Can anyone recommend a machine and model, (that is still available for purchase) and let me know what the programme length is.
thanks everyone

I noticed when I replaced my washing machine a few years ago (I have an Indesit and would definitely not recommend it) that the programmes seemed to take ages, some listed at 90 minutes!!!
My quickest wash is 30 deg and about half an hour, but it only does a light spin. I am sure my old machine was much quicker. Hope someone can advise you. It seems that the new machines use less water but much more electricity - at least thats how mine seems to be.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

I'd say bosch are pretty good for short washes, my mum has one and hers is bout the same as yours, I now have a zanussi which takes 1hr 57mins on 40 wash and my old indesit took 2hrs too. So I'd stick with another bosch. They're supposed to be reliable anyway, I've also heard miele are good, we had one at work and I think that took bout 1hr and half too. HTH0

Don't get me wrong, it is a great machine, apart from the black gunk that accumulates in the roof of the soap drawer !, but I too remember that my old machine, hotpoint, which was pants by the way, was a much faster "normal" wash than this new one.
I want to be able to do all my washing in one day instead of taking the whole flippin' weekend !!0 -
Try to find one that is not cold fill only (very rare these days). It's the cold fill that makes the programs long, because the water has to be heated before the washing even commences.
I am fed up of my cold fill Zanussi as it leaves streaks of powder on the clothes, even when only half filled.
Bring back dual fill machines, they were so much more efficient.I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

The black gunk in the top of the soap drawer is from using powder or liquid in the drawer, My old machine used to get it all the time, and used to get blocked. I then stopped using powder and now only use liquid in a ball put inside the machine and my new machine has never got any in it.0

my indesits shortest is 30 min and i have no problem with it at any temp. had it nearly 2years.does my bum look big in this sig?0

Its hard to get dual fill ones these days but easy to get ones with bigger load capacities. Mine which fits into a normal size space takes a 7kg load, which is double what my old one did, so even with a 90 minute programme, can still do all the laundry in 3 hours (or add an extra 30 mins if I want to run a wool wash as well)0

30 minutes on Daily Wash, 1 hour Flash Clean which has a better spin etc.
Mine only has cold water inlet. One day I might be more organised...........

We had an American washer in the States and it took 30 minutes. Trouble is they are MASSIVE!
My current one takes 1 hour 10 minutes and has a hole in the seal of the door. It is 25 years old but works fine. Anyone know how to seal it up?An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:
