skyrocket wrote:IThey are scientists who sell active ingredients to go in skin care. They do sell ready made eye cream and anti-age skin cream but they also sell a basic cream free from all sorts of nasty stuff and you can buy the actives seperately and mix up your own postent skin creams very inexpensively!
And trust me the stuff works! skinactives.com
xx
Can I ask which cream/active ingredients you used, Skyrocket? I looked at the skinactives site and was quite fascinated as a lot of the ingredients they sell have been prescribed to me as dietary supplements!
Thanks to Shokadelika for starting this thread and all who contributed information. I'd never heard of rosehip oil but after reading this thread ordered some from Little Green Nursery (very impressive delivery time/customer service) and am patch testing it at the moment, necessary as I have the sort of skin that looks for any excuse to throw a tantrum. Love the way the oil sinks straight into the skin and that it's natural, organic and has no dodgy chemicals. Just hope my skin will tolerate it.0 -
I started off with their pre-made eye cream and anti-age cream. they are wonderful! but when they run out i am going to make my own! i have bought the canvas base and then co-enzyme q10, dmae bitrate, anti-ox booster, els and the sea kelp. that is the 'creme de la mer' recipe with lots of other goodies in it! except a helluva lot cheaper!!
i will make my own sulphate free shampoo too. the women on there have been having tremendous success with the kgf hair kit for those whose hair is a bit thin and needs thickening out!
i have been using the kgf formula on my eyelashes and even in the short time i have been using it i am starting to see a difference. i always wanted to use the n.v perricone skin stuff but it was so expensive i could never afford to use it. now i can make my own, except more potent and ridiculously cheap too!

I have been using Bio Oil (PurCellin Oil)for some time and I would like to know if this is similar to the Rosehip Oil recommended. When man sacrifices the Love of POWER for the Power of Love, there will be peace on earth.0

Thanks, Skyrocket. Am very interested to know how you get on with your home made cream. Keep us posted! I always feel a bit cheated because I can't use the 'miracle' creams that come on the market but, then again, also worry a bit about the petro-chemicals we're absorbing through our cosmetics. I think I'll see how I go with the rosehip oil and then do a bit of experimenting. I already have CoQ10, carnosine, carnitine which have been prescribed for me as dietary supplements and it would be easy enough to open a capsule, mix with carrier oil and patch test. These are all pharmaceutical grade products so I'm reasoning if they do good on the inside hopefully they'll be safe on the skin. Will have another look at the skin actives site, it's really interesting and there's a lot to take in!0

I do know what you mean about the parabens but there are loads of actives that 'undo' the damage that parabens do. you don't have to use the canvas cream. if you have a nice organic, paraben free cream you can just add to that
