Rosehip oil
Want a great anti ageing treatment and moisturiser in one that lasts ages reduces scars and wrinkles and is in all the most expensive brands of skincare.
Get yourself some Rosehip Oil ( GOOLE it or Rosa Mosqueta) full of Efa's vitamin C Retinol Beta carotene and whats more completely natural.
It the best thing I and my freinds have ever used great on wrinkles excema etc bottle lasts around 8 months £6.99 for 50ml .
Have tried a few brands but this is the cheapeast I have found (unless anyone knows where to get it cheaper?) and is excellent quality organic and cold pressed

Shea Butter is also excellent.
Try using Shea Butter its cheap lasts ages 100g and is fantastic on skin plus no water or chemical preservatives so its very concentrated also full of natural vitamins.

my friend's mum had skin cancer and she was recommended to use rosehip oil - as my friend said, if ever you needed a recommendation for what to use on your skin, the Royal Marsden's should be good enough...0

You have been duly thanked. Do you just use it neat, would be interested in using it on DS3 (2.5 years) for his excema?0

The first point of call with a child is to try and eliminate the cause of the excema - look at your washing powder and makes sure that all your shampoo, bubble bath etc is free from mineral oils and then I'd use something like E45 or something mild rather than using an oil.0 -
Do you use the shea butter for your body or as a facial moisturiser. I wish the rose oil worked on eyes I cant find anything to help with the dryness around my eyes- or puffiness/wrinkles !0

Your eyes need very light lotions/serums/gels or they'll get even more puffy - I would only use a product specifically for the eye area. How do you clean your eye area? If it's with a hard cleanser (or just soap and water) then that could be part of the problem. You need to look at everything you use on the skin as it's very thin. And only apply things using your ring finger in a tapping motion so you don't draw/drag the skin.
Another MSE tip for skin is camomile tea made into ice cubes - use one every night over the face and decollete as a toner.0 -
Thanks for your reply. I had just bought coconut oilfor my body but tried it on my face and as my skin is very dry it works well , but I will try the shea butter as well .
I use an eye cleanser for my eyes , I was using liz earles but have now changed to simple as it was recommended by a friend. It does not seem to irritate me , thankfully although others I have used have caused redness.I have tried hundreds of eye creams but would ideally like something "natural " which is soooo hard to find .As the skin is thin around your eye area I feel it is more likely to absorb chemicals so a natural eye treatment would be a ot better for me.
Thanks for your recommendations I will ordered the rose oil too and see how I get on- not many face wrinkles yet but prevention is the best bet !0 -
I would just like to say that the little green nursery were VERY quick in sending the order :T:T:THonorary Northern Bird bestowed by AnselmI'm a Board Guide and volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly on Special Occasions, Green/Ethical, Motoring/Overseas/UK Travel & Flood boards, it's not part of my role to deal with reportable posts. E45 is OIL!!
Paraffinium Liquidium or Mineral oil Baby oil or liquid paraffin its all the same rubbish that occludes your skin robs skin cells of vitamins and makes it Drrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry!.
I would rather use Virgin Olive oil cold pressed instead of all the rubbish we are sold .
By the way if you stop using mineral oil's on your skin you may find you go through a shedding or flaking period or more dryness this is your skin adjusting to ridding itself of the occlusive barrier you have been applying to it.
Its a great scenario tho isn't it "if I stop using this product my skin gets drier or flakes therefore I have to use more" its because your skin has had its natural moisture and protection removed by the petroleum based products. Are U getting enough Vitamin D in your life!?0 -

The Rosehip oil will do wonders for your eyes!!(it may take around12 weeks to see improvement) believe me !I have tried everything and have worked in the cosmetics industry for 20 years.
The skin around your eyes may be thinner (ie has less fat below the surface) but its composition is no different to that on your foot except it has fewer oil glands.
The cosmetics industry would like you to believe you need a seperate product -tip -check the ingredients they will vary slightly from their normal moisturiser ! but of course they never divulge exact percentages.(a trade secret ha ha !)
But I bet the active (most Xspensive) ingredients are less than 0.25% ie 98% waterAre U getting enough Vitamin D in your life!?0 -

Try doing that with baby oil!.
If you are worried do a patch test first.
One of the worst things or sensitising ingredients for anyones skin especially children is Perfume!or Parfum ( as is usually listed on the bottle) in cosmetics products these can be from around 300 chemicals that have not passed safety standards for Humans.
I know it is hard but do we really need to smell of Kiwi Melon or Orange when we step out the bath or shower or wash our clothes when those smells have been chemically formulated?.Are U getting enough Vitamin D in your life!?0
