I know it is a very old thread but I needed some more Rosehip Oil at the weekend and found that it has been reduced by £1 until 15th Feb - not a lot but every penny counts in my household at the moment.

    See here : http://www.little-green-nursery.co.uk/examineitem.php?item_id=85

    Hope it helps someone.

Thanks for this. I've been using the Neals Yard organic rosehip oil (£15 for 50ml  ). It's worth it to get the results, but nice to know there is somewhere cheaper!

I've also started using oils in the bath and instead of body lotion (even resorting to using hemp oil from the kitchen when I was running low!) and the difference has been astonishing. I was using natural body lotions before, but clearly needed more intensive moisturising, as my skin is now so much smoother.

For daytime I use Weleda's rose or iris day creams or moisturiser, and also the rose eye cream occasionally. I have the iris night cream for travelling as I don't always like to take oils when I travel!

You can grow rose(hip)s, sea buckthorn and aloe vera easily at home. Fresh and cheap!

You can also eat/drink them. Rosehips and sea buckthorn are full of vitamin C.

yes use it neat but I'm wary of using anything on a small child without being extremely careful. I would check (even if means a quick call to a supplier or even the Royal Marsden) before using any neat oils on a child.

The first point of call with a child is to try and eliminate the cause of the excema - look at your washing powder and makes sure that all your shampoo, bubble bath etc is free from mineral oils and then I'd use something like E45 or something mild rather than using an oil.

eczema can also be genetic, atopic eczema is inherited. be carefull with bubble bath and shampoo as it often contains perfume try using "simple" this is reccomended by dermoptologists for people with eczema on there scalp. E45 is great but you mi ght find it is a bit too strong for there skin try seing your gp and they will give you something called diprobse this is a fantastic product i use it on my daughter who has severe eczema and has to be wet wrapped daily.

i wasnt underminding your post btw i was just helping with other sujjestions.
also if you can get hold of sweet almond oil this will helkp as it is often cheaper and kinder to eczema.

I've bought rosehip oil from little green nursery and have been using it for a few weeks. I'm very impressed by it - no discernable difference between it and the more expensive one I was using, and the dropper makes it much easier to use, and there is much less waste. As a result I'm using it every night, rather than just when I remember, and my skin is looking fabulous (lots of people comment on it!). I'm also pretty sure that my eyelashes are longer and thicker... but can't really see anyway of telling!

I did use the rosehip oil as body oil for a bit, but found that it discoloured the sheets and was hard work to get out! I'm now using shea butter and coconut oil instead (I realise the sheets will still get greasy, but at least they won't be discoloured!). In fact, I'm carrying out a trial - coconut oil on the left leg, shea butter on the right... I'll see how it goes!
