Cat72 wrote:Do you use the shea butter for your body or as a facial moisturiser. I wish the rose oil worked on eyes I cant find anything to help with the dryness around my eyes- or puffiness/wrinkles !
Supermodels swear by haemorroid cream (REALLY!) - it reduces puffiness & bags and tightens the skin under the eyes.

Please be sure to check the ingredients of Simple stuff, I bet they still use SLSs and parabens (all noxious chemicals that we ought to try and avoid really!).
I know what you mean, how hard it is to find nice and natural cosmetics!

Thanks for all the replies. We are already a fairly green household, trying to avoid chemicals/perfume etc. I use soapnuts for washing, never used fabric conditioner. The children have a bath in just water - they don't have a bath every day (I can hear the gasps already!)and use a SLS free shampoo. I use vinegar and bicarb to clean. To be honest it seems to be the weather. He never has it in the summer, only the winter (and winters are mild here)
I read in a book recently that tea tree oil may be of some use for excema, so may try a couple of drops next time he has a bath.0 -

How would I apply the rosehip oil to my eye area / neat / and where would I cover to etc, thanks0 -
I do not work for this company I just discovered them a couple of weeks ago by chance on ebay,
They are scientists who sell active ingredients to go in skin care. They do sell ready made eye cream and anti-age skin cream but they also sell a basic cream free from all sorts of nasty stuff and you can buy the actives seperately and mix up your own postent skin creams very inexpensively!
And trust me the stuff works! In three weeks my skin is ridiculously smooth and the lines around my eyes (like criss-crossy) are dissappearing. There is a forum on there that you can ask questions and learn about the different actives.
I am addicted to the site because for the first time in my life I am using stuff that is actually doing something.
As I said I don't work for them or have anything to gain from you lot looking at their site I just thought it was topical (excuse the pun!) and too good to keep to myself any longer!
can't do fancy links but it's : skinactives.com

Cat72 wrote:I have always been terrifed of uing this ( i have once or twice in desperation & it did work ) but because doesnt haemorriod cream work by thniing the piles -so I would think it would thin the skin under your eyes too, would that be right ?
I think what it does is not thinning the skin, but temporarily shrinking the tissues - I agree it does not sound all that great, I would rather probably have bags under my eyes than shrunken skin!
I don't know really whether all the beauty thing is worth all the aggro, time, money and energy that we throw at it!
I personally have given up all make-up (except for very very rare occasions, and then just for fun) and most creams - now use Liz Earle Superbalm (in minute amounts) and Weleda Skin Food (ditto), once in a while, and my nearly-50-years old skin seems to be ok - as long as it lasts!
