Worried about halight because he hasn't posted for ages
Tappers Mucho (((Hugs))) x
Lou ... Well done on today's baby steps (((Hugs))) :T
Can't get into the kitchen at the moment because DD and her BF are making costumes for a party they are going to tonight, basically they have to make a warriors costume from stuff that you find in a kitchen (thankfully they bought it all in poundland and have left my stuff alone)
I will have to evict them soon so that I can cook dinner.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Evening all, just back home again as son-in-law came home early to miss the traffic from Ashford.I spent an hour and a bit with the youngest DGS Mikey who is really struggling with work at school .He gets so down-hearted as his older brothers seem to have no trouble with their homework and he has no confidence when it comes to maths especially .We did his writing homework o.k. but he had to do some work with clocks and telling the time .He just can't grasp clocks at all bless him .He is one of the youngest in year 3 class and trailing behind the older boys .He gets so despondant and says 'Granny I'll never get the hang of it I'm just dumb 'cos I can't imagine numbers at all.' He is such a happy boy and full of life and really struggles with his numbers.I told him tonight his Mum was 10 before she could tell the time, but its so sad to see him get upset like this.He reads well and his writing is as good as any seven year old I guess, but I shall persevere with him.He will never be an 'einstein' but he cheers everyone up as he is such a happy little boy as a rule and is always giggling. So maybe he won't grow up to be a brilliant mathmatician, but if he makes folks laugh that's not a bad thing to go through life with is it.
I made my vat of soup and its all portioned up.I'm just off to have a cuppa and sort out something from the freezer for dinner
have a good evening everyone
Cheers JackieO xx0 -
Well done Lou, lovely to hear you are making a plan, and taking the small steps, and to hear from you.
Well we made it to Peronne a little earlier than last night, so had time to scan the thread, welcome newbies :hello: off to the Camponile restaurant again, would like a change but nothing else in walking distance here.

Hello all,
JackieO - I was useless at maths all through school and ended up working in a bank for 25 years - maybe why that's a financial crisis! :rotfl:
Lou -Everything is a step forward cariad.
I observed the two minutes silence at the opticians with everyone else. Nothing OS today as i slept through until 1700
Did anyone see my question about bread makers before - it was very early when I put it on :rotfl: What do you think, is £39 too cheap in a pay cheap pay twice kind of way??? I'd welcome some advice.

Taplady & Cheapskate- hugs to you both
Not had time to post till now as it seems to have been hectic here.We have a viewer for the house tomorrow-first one in about 8 months  so I've had to go the extra mile in my housework.Mind you ,I think they are going to view next door too, completely different kind of houses, ours is newish and next door is 1930's.DH found out when he asked if I could go and pick some of the apples that are just falling on the ground going to waste(single man lives there ,and hes not often there)DH said I would make him a pie in return so he said to help myself to as many as I want
Been to DBs as it is DN birthday (8) and we took her pressie. She's having a party at home tomorrow and is very excited.DB is not so excited at the thought of 15 8yr olds descending on them :rotfl:
Hope you all have a good evening xxx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -

Evening All
Sorry so many of you are down, hugs all round.
Welcome to the newbies, it's good here!
FW, bet you're glad that's over and you can now get on with your life.
Taplady - chin up honey.
Lou - It may not seem much of a step to you but you're doing well, hope it continues!
Had a busy day at work today , school observed the 2 minute silence - 153 primary children sat in complete silence. Felt very proud. Came home to find DD ironing - never known it happen before! She had also hoovered round and generally tidied up, put the washing on the airer and put another load in. Glad she's helping out but hope she gets a job soon, hers was seasonal. They extended the contracts till December but there are no guests so no work!
I'm off to Edinburgh tomorrow with friends to celebrate one's 40th (a bit belated) and staying over. Quite excited now. We have refreshments for the train and just need to put some bits and bobs in a bag.
Hope you all have a good weekend. Take care. XX0
