    Morning all,
FW wel done, great news. I've posted on yout other thread.
We have delivery of the new roof this morning, can't wait. Doubt I'll be here because I have to go to DD2's this morning. She had cavity wall insulation drilled in the walls y/day and as they had to plug in to her socket there is red brick dust everywhere in the house, DD asked if I could watch after DGD2 and baby whilst she cleans. There is no way I'm going to let her do it, she is surviving on about 3 hrs sleep a night because baby, 2 wks old , has a cold. I'll hose down the patio and clean her porch, even her skirting boards are covered. Stardrops will be used, love the stuff.
I've made cheese & mushroom omelettes and grilled bacon for her & DGD's breakfast. Got some lentil soup for DD's lunch. I'll bring DGD back with me after cleaning and she's staying overnight. I got 6 ys Puck@ pies y/day for 25p each, cooked them so that's DH's lunch sorted, the other 5 are in the freezer. Not OS buying pies but at that price.......

SHALVA, Don't be daft, you weren't nagging I thought it kind of you to be concerned. x :)
FINDINGMYWAY, You will find your way with the help always on tap here. Welcome to you.
Hugs to all and have a good day.

Hi everyone. I've been MIA for a couple of days. Since the horrid bug went, I've been so pleased to be well that I haven't stopped to take a breather, and now I'm a bit cream-crackered!

Farmer's Wife - glad the outcome was so good.

Findingmyway - welcome to you. This is a lovely thread; I know you'll enjoy it here. You are very far away, aren't you? I live in France and that feels like a million miles from home.

    Donny-gal - safe trip home.

Shalva - I bake courgettes in olive oil and they are delicious. If they are small, I do them whole; for big ones, I slice them and turn them in the oil a couple of times so that they brown on both sides; again, delicious. I think courgettes are the most useful of all the veg. I use them in practically everthing.

Well, OS-wise, dinner tonight will be sausage casserole, followed by Impossible Pie. On Wednesday we take possession of the half a pig that I mentioned a couple of months ago. It's a 'thank you' from our farming friends who borrowed DH's van when they were stuck without one. We told them we didn't want anything, that one day we'll probably need their help, but they are insisting and won't take no for an answer. I shall report back and let you know just what half a Gloucester Old Spot, organically raised, provides! As I got to know the pigs when they were just newborns, I shall just have to pretend that it's one I haven't cuddled!

Anyway, I still have a few things to catch up with today - the ironing, for a start.

Hope you all have a good day.

    Morning everyone

Fw - Excellent news - you can start to look forward now x

findingmyway - welcome, you'll find us a friendly bunch!

Very overcast, damp and nasty here this morning. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.

Was productive yesterday, did housework, washing, drying and ironing - still have some drying and ironing as having to use TD - nothing is drying otherwise - trying not to think of the cost! Made a HM loaf yesterday - it's huge, I don't know why it's risen so much it's all the same stuff I normally use - not even new packet of yeast etc!! Got a couple of hot spots where things get dumped sorted yesterday too, and I'm slowly shredding a pile of papers.

I'll be heading to town shortly, will visit the bank, drop DH's prescription in, then do the food shop, want to get ironing finished and do some baking/cooking this afternoon. Have just searched the freezers for ideas/inspiration for tonight's dinner and found 2 x packets of sausages, so we'll be having toad in the hole, sausages are now defrosting, will do mash, carrots, spring cabbage with garlic and bacon and onion gravy - delish, and I hopefully will get some baking done so dessert will be something HM. May also make some soup have several items of veg that have seen better days lurking in the bottom of the fridge. DH asked if we could have pavlovas so will make those tonight and we'll have them at some point over the weekend.

Need to crack on, have a good Friday everyone, stay safe and well.

Have a great day everyone, hugs to those that need/want them, take care.

    nmlc x

    Morning All,

FW yayy :j glad you got a positive outcome
Findingmyway, mumto2boys, welcome you will love it here:D

Doesn't look too bad outside blue sky but too cold to dry washing I think.
Today will nip out to get some bits. I find I eat more when I am home all day, I don't think about it when I am out and about.

A quiet wkend, have promised to make DS3 chocolate brownies as he has been stressed with exams this wk.
We need to crack on with the kitchen but we just can't seem to get motivated at the mo.
DH got the all clear on his blood test so very pleased. He is currently looking for an ankle brace so that he can start playing football again  sounds mad to me but who knows what goes on in mens minds, not me.

Must get on will pop back later, have a good day all J x

    FW Great result smiley-happy057.gif

Welcome findingmyway smiley-happy059.gif lovely bunch on here, sorry to hear of your break up with BF (((Hugs))) welcome to Mum2boys too smiley-happy059.gif

Hester there is nothing worse than working in a place with low morale.

Went into Aldi yesterday and got a load of sweet potatoes, carrots and peppers because they were on offer at 69p a bag, then to my local GG and got some more pickling onions, brussels and cauli and they have all been peeled washed and chopped and are in the freezer.
I am another who doesn't blanch things, because I find that it changes the texture and flavour of the veggies.

I am going to do an oven full of roast potatoes today and then freeze them - so handy for a quick dinner. I just par boil them and roast till just coloured, open freeze on trays and then bag them up.

I prepare all my veggies a couple of days before Christmas as well, it saves so much time on the day :D

NSD today and when everyone has gone out I plan to wrap a few more pressies.

((((((((Hugs))))))) to all who need one x

Oh well housework beckons smiley-chores003.gifsmiley-chores007.gifsmiley-chores009.gif etc

Have a good day everyone I shall be thinking of our soldiers so far from home today and hoping they all get home safely to their families
  • Morning!

Bit late today as I have been struggling a little... yesterday was a write off, I have no idea what I did... ended up getting DS and I food from down the road for dinner. Today I struggled to do the school run, but i'm home now and resting.

Tonight I have to drive DS to his dad's (I am so not looking forward to that), but my Ex is suffering depression after his mum's sudden passing in August, and he's wallowing in self-pity... so no matter how poorly I am, I will drive 35 miles to his house to give him a pep-talk and get him positive about having his son around so he doesn't bring DS down with him...! Last time he has DS I didn't go and did it over the phone and had DH drop DS, and DS didn't enjoy himself as much because of the wallowing!

Anyway, I am going to have a nap now to make sure I am well enough to go this afternoon.

I have a friends son for 2 hours over lunch, but DH will be here and has offered to look after him for me (DH is smitten anyway!)

FW I am very pleased for your good news x
Lou I hope you feel some better today x

    Take Care all x
