Thanks for the reviews on the viessmann boilers but on the same site there seems to be a lot more bad reviews for the bosh, for example

    "Worcester Bosch Greenstar FS42Cdi Regular"

I have had this boiler for 29months, no wonder the manufacturers give 24months guarantee. It was all fine up to now. Everything went wrong with this boiler..... I have to replace new condensing pump (cost £290.00 plus labour £150.00=£440.00) new thermo-switch, door seal, and another part (cost £40.00 plus labour £75.00= £115.00) Now PCB (£102.00 plus labour £150.00=£252) Total of £807.00. Original cost of the boiler was £1499.00! I am disappointed with the boiler and the expensive...

I had a new boiler from WB just over 4 years ago. It was a 40kw condensing boiler. We have had a lot of problems with the electronics and today the boiler was condemned by a heating engineer. It had leaked, and corroded, and broke the seals on the boiler so it was leaking carbon monoxide. I now have to have a new boiler (from another manufacturer, of course). All very disappointing and expensive, and I would not recommend this boiler to anyone....

I have been an oftec registered oil engieer for 35 years and the Bosch Greenstar range is the first boiler that ive ever refused to service.I recommend customers get Bosch to service them. My reasons are in my opinion the design of the boiler is such that corrosion is affecting the whole boiler to the extent that i judge that within 5 years the boiler may need replacing.By getting Bosch to do the servicing maybe they will have to stand by their product. The overall design has taken boiler servicing back 30 years.WARMFRONT seem to have a fixation on fitting this horrible boiler.Iam not the only engineer refusing to service these boilers Beware before you buy.

    Etc, Etc

you wont find a lot of good reviews on things as people tend to only post a review when something goes wrong or breaks.

After reading up and doing a bit of research on the viessmann's it seems the old 100 series had a few problems, they stopped being manufactured in 2008 and the new series are a lot more reliable.

I will let you all know how it goes when fitted.

Another question is how much water do these chuck out when condensing ?
I have an acko drain running down the side of my house which just empty,s into the ground. Were going to put the water dispensing pipe into this and see how it goes.

I just used them as example, most manufactures have there own engineers if things go wrong, viessmann use local plumbers, not good if you fall out with them.
My advice is not to buy one , but you take your chances.
    Good luck.

Pleased with the job, he power flushed it twice with chemicals but the system was quite clean really, He fitted one of them magnet filter things, put some chemical into the CH when he filled it and fitted a programmable stat.
