  • Ask yourself...do you trust your 'mate' and his judgement? If not contact Viessmann and ask....as I have suggested previously.

It is evident from postings made by another that he/she does not have hands on experience with Viessmann's service or products.

Good luck with your install whichever way you go.

I can send you a copy of my certificate I have from them if you like.
Like I said things may have changed hence why I was asking you a direct question. Not sure why you cannot just answer.

I will be going with the viessmann as they seem to be rated highly by most.
Could you tell me though if the 100 w range condense the hot water AND central heating ? I cant find anything on there website to tell me this.

This guy says the 100 had problems but now seem to be back on track.

  • "VIESSMANN APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICES"

If you already own a Viessmann Vitodens 100 and it is over 5 years old then you may be experiencing the same problems.
My boiler recently started playing-up, F4 fault reading on display. So-called engineer turned-up from Viessmann, at £216, which you have to pay up front. And he said that water was coming in via my flue and flooding the interior of my boiler and so therefore it is an installer issue NOT a Viessmann engineer issue? Well I was flabbergasted by his comments and complained to Viessmann direct but they refused to initially refund me any money. They said it's a 'condense issue'.
I contacted Consumer Direct and they told me to send them a letter of complaint insisting on a part refund which they accepted to do for £108.
The main problem now is that they want to charge me again if it turns out to be the same problem? But my argument is that they didn't repair it the first time?
This story is not over yet, as I am back to square one with a fault they should have fixed.
So, if you are on the market and looking at boilers I would avoid this product all together.

  • Just a few comments from the web

    "Boiler keeps breaking down"

I've had the boiler for about 5 years and every year or so the boiler stops working. The repairmen come out and spend days randomly replacing parts until the repair bill is high enough and then it starts working (at least for the next 12-18 months)....

  • Sadly I inherited this system when I bought my house. The system was brand new as the house had been fully renovated, so there should have been no calls for concern, however....it has proved to be nothing but trouble - so much for German engineering excellence. To be fair to Viessmann they offer super energy saving potential. Install a Vitodens 100 and you will drastically reduce your gas consumption...BECAUSE IT WILL NEVER BE WORKING WHEN YOU NEED IT. They should change their company...

  • we had our wiessman boile fitted in the summer of 2007 with a all new heating system . to my horror after 3 short weeks the boiler packed up this has now been on going since then with my plumber looking at it 6 times to date and viessman enginers have now been out a total of 5 times changing parts, all in all rubbish, i cant believe how much water you have to draw off to get anything hot through at least a kitchen sink full . now so fed up i'm now looking at other boilers to put in to replace this...

  • I bought a Viessman Vitodends 100 boiler in 2007 and had it installed by a reputable plumber. Since then I've experienced numerous reliability problems with this boiler and have had to get get an engineer out on three separate occasions to replace a stuck internal air flap and, most recently, to replace a faulty ignition unit. It seems there are a number of acknowledged design faults with this boiler. Viessman's customer service team are polite but inflexible and have refused to offer spare parts...

  • viessman won't stand by their 5 year warranty on the heap of (not allowed) they call vitodens 100 it has a fault built into the metal case thingy the laughingly call a boiler. f4 f4 f4 f4 f4 means it is (not allowed) for good unless you pay them £250+ for a pcb and ignition coil. when will these manufacturers stop selling (not allowed). unless a boiler has got at least 5yrs parts and labour i for one will not be fitting it. and it is about time all installers stood up to these parasites that...
