Hi Alice, well done on the reduction, and only three more car payments to go!! Pain about the shower but at least you had your emergency fund to fall back on xLBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!
Debt Dec 11: Unsecured £69,579 + Mortgage £59,948 = £129,527
Debt May 21: Unsecured ZERO! ZILCH! Mortgage £22,3320 -
Thanks HappyNow, never really had an 'emergency fund' before........or was it called 'the credit card'!!!!
Have updated spending diary, petrol spends so far £166, groceries £486, impressed with the food bill as we have done a lot of entertaining (although everybody did chip in) and it does include alcohol.
Today I need to do meal plan, clean/tidy downstairs (after taking the decs down), make present tags from Christmas cards and peg out as its not raining and there is a clear blue sky:):rotfl:
Hope everybody has a good day.xxDMP with CCCS started Jan12 £34,906 Jan13 £31,893 Jan14 £26,836 Jan15 £21,894 Jan16 £16,839 Jan17 £14,415 Jan19 £12,938ish Jan19 £9,649 Jan20 £6612 Feb 21 0 Self managed from Jan'17

Well that's it, Christmas all put away for another year. Have cleaned living and dining room and it all feels fresh and spacious (not really that big but feels bigger now that the Christmas tree has gone)......kitchen is piled full of stuff nowthough.
We needed cat food and I need a hair dye (2 for £10) so went to sburys this afternoon, got milk, eggs, potatoes, other bits of fruit/veg, total spend £34.57 , take off £10 for hair stuff and £4.20 for cat food, total spend on food £20ish. Now that is it for food in 2012.
Tomorrow we are going to take the kids to spend their vouchers/money. I also need to get neice and SIL birthday presents.
I've got my new spending diary for 2013 ready, how sad am I??!!?? I can't wait to make a start in it :rotfl:

Hi mummy,
On our DMP we are supposed to put £35 per month (which isn't a lot really) into our emergency fund pot but I try and put more in. I did get it over £200 but I think it needs to be near £500, which I will aim for in 2013. I will be putting the water rates money in there for the next 3 months as we don't start paying them again until April, so that will be an extra £66 per month.

We've had a great day shopping, kids spent their money/vouchers wisely. I managed to get some casual shoes in the sale but no work shoes, luckily I have a pair I can use for a few weeks, the heels a bit high but they'll do.:)
Got some birthday presents for neice and nephew (who's birthday is not until Feb but it was a bargain) in the toys store sale, and got SIL present using a money off voucher I had been given.
As a treat whilst we were out we went for pizza which I hadn't budgeted for, but I can borrow from Januarys entertainment budget.
Feeling a little nervous about 2013 (how silly am I), as I've got older I really don't like new years eve, don't know why. I am going to try even harder to keep a track of every penny in 2013 but I must remember we have got to live too!!
Wish everybody happiness, good health and of course great debt busting in 2013.xxDMP with CCCS started Jan12 £34,906 Jan13 £31,893 Jan14 £26,836 Jan15 £21,894 Jan16 £16,839 Jan17 £14,415 Jan19 £12,938ish Jan19 £9,649 Jan20 £6612 Feb 21 0 Self managed from Jan'17

Hi Alice
Have been keeping up with your diary for ages. You started off just as I feel now, keeping the payments up to date, but slowly drowning in it all. I am impressed how well you have done this year and will follow your diary as an inspiration.
Will be glad when its New Year is over and its back to normal so I can make inroads on our debt too.
