  • My shoes leaked today (the one's I taped up a few weeks ago). I really need some new trainers too. I'm wondering if I could buy a pair of shoes that I could use to walk DS3 into school, walk the dog and just general walking about. I will have a look at the weekend, I'm thinking that if I had new shoes/trainers it would motivate me to get walking more.....maybe......xx

  • Thanks for that suggestion DFW321, I shall take a look :).

I have just asked the questions why all 3 TV's in our house have got the football on:eek:. There isn't any reason why they all can't sit in the livingroom and watch it in there.........blinking football.

Too be honest it is a bit chilly in the house tonight as we haven't put the heating on today. Its certainly not worth putting it on now. Think thats why the kids are watching TV in bed :o.xx

    Hi Alice,

Poor you with the shoes, as you read in my diary my coat leaked aswell :o!

I wanted to add about the shoes, so you have a sports direct near you? My DH got some decent (Karrimor?!) I think walking shoes which he uses for the dog and im pretty sure they were only around £20. Would they be any good for you?

    Chilly here too xx

  • Thanks mummy, there is one not too far from here. Next time I'm that way I will nip in.:)

Well payday was yesterday and I think it's going to be easy to do our budget from payday to payday rather than by calender month. I must remember there are 5 weekends in May 'til next payday.:(

I did 'big' shop in A1di yesterday only to get home and my OH tell me that he'd got a voucher for £5 of £35 for A1di but it runs out next wednesday, doubt I will get back there before then.:(

We went to get dog food today and the last bag on the shelf had a small split in it (made worse by OH when he picked the 25kg bag up) but I mentioned it at the checkout and got 10% off, which I thought was great as the bag is £38 but it does last 7 weeks.:)

Must get other quotes for dog insurance as the renewal quote is £180 I think thats a bit steep and get 2 new tyres on my car.

I pegged washing out today and I was quite surprised how much it had dried, just airing it all ready for ironing tomorrow morning. Tomorrow I've heard is going to be a washout just as kids football and rugby seasons finishes and we could get out in the garden.:(

Upto £90 in £2 pot but have had the heating on today.xx

  • Have just checked our DMP on the CCCS website and current balance is £33981.83. I'm quite surprise how much it's gone down.

We've still got £400 sitting in the building society and with the £2 pot upto £90 I can't remember the last time we had this amount of 'savings'. We do need to keep the 'pots' topped up tho, have fallen behind on a few of these and they aren't 'growing' like they should. Will try and sort these out this month.

Today will be a NSD and hopefully Mon, Tue and Wed next week will be too. Total for April will be 13...i think!! Must try harder in May.xx

  • Finally got all the ironing done this morning. Then I spent 2hrs filing and sorting through our paperwork.

I found our latest mortgage statement, we currently owe £75K with 13years left to pay. So at the moment our mortgage will finish before our DMP!!! But once the car loan is finished next March that money will go towards our DMP and then the DFD will come closer......I hope anyway.

I found a huge cardboard box in the garage so DS2 and DS3 have been playing with that, colouring it in, making it into a TV and a robot. Will need to tidy and vac all downstairs tonight.

What a washout today has been, hope next weeks brighter.xx

  • Last NSD of the month. Looking forward to doing better with the NSDs in May. I am going to really try and keep the food budget down too and I really need to start to get motivated and lose some weight.

Off to bed as I'm shattered and if I'm in bed I can't eat!!! xx

Well I'm not getting off to a good start this month. Last night DS1 and his girlfriend were having pizza delivered for their tea (they were paying) and my OH gave me that puppy dog look and said he'd quite fancied pizza too. So £15 later we had pizza/chicken wings for tea.

I had mare of a morning this morning, DS2 took ages to get up and was nearly late, I asked DS1 to take DS3 to school as he wasn't at college today and I wanted to be in work a few minutes earlier to try and catch up but he didn't get up intime, so I ended up taking DS3 to school but only after he had had a major meltdown. He'd wanted to jump out from behind the door and say 'boo' which he did but all I said was 'come on we've got to go' which was not the reaction he wanted because he said he wanted to surprise me so that was it, downhill spiral and I ended up shouting at him. So he ended up going into school still sobbing :(

Still got to sort dog insurance out (sburys have now offered a £30 store voucher as well as double nectar points for the year).

Will have to get bread tonight, have even used all the bread/rolls out of the freezer.

DS3 going to stay at my Moms tonight/tomorrow as the school is closed (been used as polling station), I'm sure he'll will forgive me for this morning, just need to have a little word with the other 2 to pull their socks up.

    xx
