  • Yesterday spent £19 on haircuts for kids. Then went to the park and they had ice cream £3. Met up with friends but declined invite to go for food.

Spent £23 in supermarket for OHs weekend away. (Boys camping weekend), he's got £25 cash too.

DS2 played cricket for a men's team today, £10 sub money, but at least we were all fed as the tea was lovely.

    Hoping for another NSD tomorrow.

Washing dried on about an hour flat today.:)

  • Upto 4NSDs, I'm not including childcare this week as I have to pay daily.....don't think that counts as cheating.

Today I will need to get petrol and bread.

Cabot are ringing home and OHs mobile about 5-6 times a day.

Got 2 loads pegged out today.

  • I've received a letter from c@pital, they have passed my debt onto Apex, who promptly called me at work today. Thankfully I kept my cool but I'm sure the whole office went quiet and 25 pairs of eyes stared at me. Told them the person they were looking for wasn't available on this number. They're going to call back. I really couldn't say much. As you know this is one of my major concerns. :(
Haven't received anything in writing from Apex as yet.

Tuesday got petrol £30, supermarket £14:eek:, expensive bread or what. Lol

Up to 5 NSDs. Today paid works lottery, bought biscuits as a treat for work, £29 into emergency fund, and put £100 in DS school fees/living expenses pot.

Using food bits up for tea tonight, don't think folk were too impressed but they ate it all.:D

Need to get colour for my hair quite urgently...lol and we need to find £150 to get the trees chopped in the garden....OH has booked this for in 2 and a bit weeks. He can't do these trees but obviously hasn't thought about how we're going to pay.

Next weeks childcare not too bad, OH has a few days off.

Sorry to hear Apex have contacted you at work - could you ring them today - https://myapex.apexcm.co.uk/

I know we don't agree with telephone calls but wondered if you could ring to advise them you are managing your own DMP and that you will send a letter/email in the next few days with an offer and ask that they hold the account for 21 days?

This will then stop them ringing your work number.

You don't need the account number to call them, just say you have had a letter from the creditor and want to advise them of the situation at the earliest opportunity!!

Also I doubt 25 pairs of eyes were looking at you, it probably felt like it but everyone would have been too busy doing their own work.

Well done for keeping your cool. I guess you'll be able to make a settlement offer soon now?
How much will the trees cost? I know that's expensive!

It's taken me about a week but I have read your whole diary! You're doing so well and I have to say you seem to be very unlucky with your cars. One of my threads was about selling our newish car and buying an older one and reading your diary has def made me think more about this. You have also encouraged me to hang my washing out more. You seem to do loads of ironing, I don't do any :p Keep positive and be proud of how much you have achieved.

Hi EE, thanks for your post. I took the bull by the horns and called Apex. They have removed my works number..phew! The account has been put on hold for 30 days, they have changed it to correspondence by post only but they want a budget before they agree to my monthly fee. I just want to pay the same amount as I did through SC!! Balance is £2645, monthly payment £81

On a plus note, Cabot have sent us a letter re balance outstanding......not sure why as they have been paid for the last 2 months....on the smallest debt which is £45.56, so I'm going to pay this off when we pay the next payment (in approx 2 weeks). That will mean 1 debt down.:)

Bcard has sent a letter asking for the account to be brought up to date. I have only been paying them £25 per month and they have been adding interest. I'm not sure what to do about this account!?!

Hi V, thanks I was sweating a bit I can tell you. Im not sure how soon we'll be in a position to make a settlement offer. DS1 doesn't have a sponsor and although he has money from his scholarship there are still his living expense and his flights home. Hence the £100 per week.

Im going to keep chipping away and fingers crossed we can sort something out.

The trees will cost £150. OH can do the others but these ones are just too tricky and there is a greenhouse on the other side of the fence, hence calling in the professionals. It is mates rates but still £150!!

Hi, oh my, I admire your stamina there. The cars have been particularly bad over the last 18 months. Both cars are of a particular age when things start wearing out and need replacing. But its a case of better the devil you know. the other issue is the kids do so much travelling with their football, we need something reliable. Cars - can't live with 'em, can't live easily without them.:rotfl:

The only advise I can offer is peg out at every opportunity. Lol I love to se the washing blowing in the breeze. You must telling me your secret to cutting out the ironing. :)

Thank you for your kind words.

  • Have dropped OH and DS off at the charity footie game. OH's got £5 to buy some raffle tickets as our contribution, and change to buy a drink after.

Managed to get DS3 some football boots for £15, absolute bargain, boots can be so expensive. Really please with that, still need to get school shoes and uniform though!!

Called into cheapy shop as we needed squash, and a few bits. Spent £15!!

I've stated doing one poll. Not sure how I'll get on but going to persevere.
