  • Hi mummy, OH was not a happy bunny! Relative doing ok thanks. Have been to the hospital tonight. Certainly not moaning about extra spends on petrol and parking, but they soon mount up.:o

OH called stepchange today......yes OH did it.:) still not happy about it. Feels like a step back but it's done now. Can't wait for Thursday when OH gets paid, feels like we can start all over again.......sounds a bit melodramatic but you get the gist.;)

    Still not had a NSD.

OH called into supermarket tonight, spent £16. Also spent £12 on picnic stuff on the way to sports event yesterday. Plus £3 entry fee.

  • This is going to be a right rambling post. Feels like I haven't posted for ages. :o

It's just been one of those weeks, the oldie still in hospital (wish other family members would help out but heyho), kids have just been manic with cricket matches, end of term parties, etc etc, I've been working late so housework has gone by the by, and this thing about reducing the payment to stepchange is still on my mind.

Felt really rough about Tuesday, have steadily got worse, went to the doctors yesterday he said I've have a chest infection. Got some antibiotics and he said get some rest....yeah right. Physically I don't feel too bad, it's mentally that I feel worse. I just absolutely hate money at the moment.

Have updated spending diary for the first time in this week. We have £53 to last until next Thursday, just OHs phone bill to pay on Monday (due over weekend). Spent £63 in sburys on Wednesday, £35 petrol and kids had a new pool (not very MSE I know).

Did meter readings this morning (well OH did :)) we are now -£37, we have used £49 in 3 weeks.

OH and the kids have stripped beds and generally tidied up this morning, I've put 3 loads out so far. DS2 gone to some cadets thing, gave him £5. OH gone to play cricket, he's got £15.

Still need to finalise childcare during the holidays.

Hope everybody has got sunshine today. It's certainly not as warm as they forecast.

  • Thanks mummy, still feel rough, but carrying on...as we do.

Have been to oldies house this morning and run a few errands for them. Won't be going to the hospital today.

In-laws coming for dinner so called into farm shop and got some strawberries and other fruit/veg bits, spent £8.53. Called into shop and got a few bits spent £7.45.

Don't think I've had a NSD so far this month.:o

Going to iron uniforms and work stuff and everything else can wait. Just going chill today......but I will go through the paperwork/post that is on the side in the kitchen.

Hi Optimistic Kate, I certainly am......feel like I just want to start this month all over again.

Had a challenging couple of days at work, home, with money (or lack of it), OH pushing all the right buttons. :o

I called into supermarket on way home, spent £29, also got petrol. We are literally down to our last £10.

Sorted DS3s holiday care out, going to cost £300.

Bcard have tried to contact me, called my mobile and text me.:o

OHs payday tomorrow, going to get back on track. Certainly paying with cash has stopped me going completely off the rails.

  • I've decided I'm not going to count NSDs for this month.:)

Last night we had a chippy tea.....even though it wasn't the first of the month. Wish we hadn't I've not been well since, sorry TMI.

The oldies are sorted now, that's one thing off my mind (sort of:o).

We have a relatives major birthday coming up and the siblings are putting £50 each towards a present, so need to pay that this week.

I've got a few days off work next week and have booked to have my hair done. Could do with colouring it first, have to use 2 boxes of colour and it's such a pain, but just cant justify or afford the salon prices.

I haven't pegged out yet today....I fact I haven't even put the washing machine on...I must be ill.:rotfl:

Im going to bank £10 of 20ps as I'm buying a gift voucher off somebody at work for a Christmas present. I'm quite pleased I'm making a start on Christmas.

Hi Alice, you have motivated me to deal in cash for our grocery spends. I used to do it but got out of the habit and now find we're spending way too much, our allowance on our DMP is £450 pcm which I know is a decent amount, but I find I'm spending up tp £550 pcm which is ridiculous!!! So from this week I am taking £120 out each Friday and will stick to that. We CAN do it :o

Hi savvykaz, our allowance on our DMP is £450 too, this is where I try and save some money, but it is so easy to overspend. Quite getting used to dealing with cash now. Plus we don't have to wait for the debit to show in the bank account as the cash withdraws show up instantly.

I'm am sure you can get back on track. Good luck.:)

  • This morning have pegged 3 loads out. Hope it stays on the line! It's that windy could be fetching it from down the street.:)

Last night we went to check on the oldies, called into @ldi and picked some stuff up for them and spent £21 on stuff for us. We are having a BBQ this afternoon for our niece and some of her friends (SIL total waste of time, but that's another story) as it is her birthday. OH just gone to supermarket armed with a list of other bits we need. Spends should be £20 max.

Hope the wind dies down by then.

OH is being a pain to be honest. Yesterday he did that 'Kevin the teenager' thing a few times. Also he is supposed to be sorting DS2 sports thing out and he hasn't done it yet, this will/could jeopardise DS2s sporting future. I have gently reminded him. He's gone into his own little world again, he seems so far removed from us. I wouldn't mind but he has his free time, his own things going on in his life, just occasionally I ask him to 'join in' with us and it's like I'm asking him to do something really inconvenient. Men ay!!

I don't have any cash left, gave OH my last £20 note to get shopping stuff. I will have the change from that when he gets back.

Spends next week - my hair cut £25, birthday money £50, save £75 towards holiday club for DS3.
