  • Thanks atolaas, it seems such a long road at times, I do forget how far we've come.:)

Yesterday I had a bit of a meltdown.....it was bound to happen.:(. We went to sports club...didn't spend any money there, then went to town.

I didn't have enough change for the 30 minute parking so I asked OH (who said he'd go and get the ticket) if he'd ask somebody passing if they could swap the £1 coin for some change. He went to the ticket machine passed about 8 people plus there was a queue at the machine, didn't asked anyone for change and put the whole £1 coin in.

Now I know he offered to get the ticket, and I know he has only 'wasted' 30p, and I know anybody reading this will think I'm a complete fruitcake but it's the principle of the whole thing. I did ask him why he didn't ask anybody for change....his reply was he didn't know.ggggrrrrr

Anyway spent 99p on a roll of wrapping paper and £12 in icel@nd.

Got some sunshine this morning so have pegged out and got another load in the machine. Got all the airers out just finishing off the clothes I pegged out yesterday, although everything should be just about dry so will have a massive ironing pile to do tonight.

OH going to vac and wash the car this morning, I'll do some houswork, then help kids with homework and revision.

Whilst typing this post I've eaten half a packet of chocolate biscuits (which I bought yesterday as a treat:o) with a cup of tea.....very naughtly.:(

When buying wrapping paper I choose rolls of paper with a design which is suitable for all ages and either sex, stripes, spots or a solid colour. Saves us have to keep spending money buying paper for each individual birthday which generally works out more expensive and I also don't need to spend the time buying paper each time their is a birthday.

    Cross posts with you.

  • I don't think you're a fruit cake, how hard wouldn't it have been to ask people about change. Also it's the principle of the thing if OH couldn't put the effort in when asking about change is small how is he going to cope when more effort is required?

  • Thanks Baileys Babe, yeah that's I good idea. I have done this in the past at Christmas and got silver and gold which is quite universal. Just seem to have loads of girlie paper to use up at the moment.:)

OH doesn't seem to want to make even the smallest of changes at times. I could put a lots of things in this diary put trying to keep focused on the money side of things. Don't want it to seem like I'm always 'having a go' at OH.:o

Yesterday was NSD4 and had a lovely afternoon pottering in the garden. Today has been NSD5.:)

Today we've received our mortgage statement. Current balance £59,491 and 10 years left.

  • Have just checked bank account and we have £30.71 left until Thursday (OH's payday). Now that's not bad considering the first 2 weeks of the month are the worst.

I do need extra money next week to pay for DS3's holiday club and the car is booked to have the exhaust sorted on Saturday.

We are running out of milk but I'm going to try and not go to the supermarket until the weekend. There are plenty of options for breakfast. I'm sure I have a problem/fear of running out of food.:rotfl:

    Today should be NSD 7.:)

  • Went to @ldi last night, spent £59. I did think that was quite expensive for a shop there. Ive checked the receipt, we did spend quite a lot on frozen veg.:rotfl:

Still need to go to sburys to get the milk we have from there and a few other bits. But on the plus side I managed to keep out of the supermarket for nearly a week.:)

Yesterday got petrol, £30. The other car needs petrol too, it should of gone for its exhaust today but have changed to next week.

We've not exchanged any valentines cards or gifts. I'd feel a bit of fraud if I did, especially when our marriage is hanging together by a thread.....perhaps that's why we're in the situation we are in.:(

But we are going out for a drink tonight.....only to the sports club mind.;)

I've got the money for DS3s holiday club next week. Also DS2 needs new school shoes, trainers and a haircut. He might have to wait until OH gets paid on Thursday.

We've had 8 NSDs so far, really pleased with that.:)

    Ooh Alice t4614.gif

I was just coming on to tell you I hung out some bed linen today and it got dry in a few hours and I see the bit above.

Have things got worse with DH? When my DH makes me angry I rant away on my diary - it makes me feel better:rotfl:

Is the marriage saveable (is that a word?)?
If it's not then you need a plan to leave - ellieseven is planning on leaving her husband in 2.5 yrs. Her debts will be paid off by then and she will be off. She is able to cope with her husbands behaviour as she knows that it is not forever.

Apologies if I have read it wrong and am interfering.

Hope you have a good night at the sportsclub t0308.gif

Thanks Ladies, your comments made me laugh too. I do have this thing about the cupboard/fridge/freezer to be full. I do meal plan and hardly have any food waste so I don't know why I'm so obsessed.:(:)

We are back from our 'night out', didn't take the kids, just went for 2 drinks.
