The plan went completely out the window we all succumbed to a horrid viral infection, coughing, no voice, sneezing, temperature, streaming nose, snot everywhere, aches & pains etc. We are still suffering but thankfully a little bit less each day. OH ended up cancelling his week off instead he was off sickThe heating went on and very few jobs have been crossed off the list.
The heating is only on downstairs and we can set the temperature and time separately for each room. Myself and the children are based at home, originally the heating was programmed 9am until midday at 18 degrees, this has been reduced in most rooms to 17.5 degrees without anybody noticing/commentingOne advantage to the heating going on is we now have the laundry back under control :j the second advantage is we are wearing so much less clothing less ends up in the laundry to start with.
Wish we could of held of the on the heating longer but very thankful we have the finances to put it on when needed.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

The saga of OHs car insurance continues. It turns out that when they tried to take the DD last week (Wednesday) there wasn't enough money in the bank.OH told me that the date the DD would come out had changed to a few days later.....when the money would of been there. So we are now being charge £15 bank charges and had a note from the bank reminding us that we do not have an overdraft facility on this account. One step forward...two back!!
I haven't mentioned the car insurance to OH yet. I feel like 'throwing' all the money stuff at him and leaving him to it, but I know that won't help or solve anything.
Had a letter about the house insurance, Sw1nt0n want to take a deposit on the 2nd of December even though the insurance isn't due until near the end of December?!? Most strange, must get some quotes in.
Have done Christmas lists, all under control (sort of!), with the exception of DS2s present, that we will have to see.

I've done it.......I've told OH I'm not dealing with any of the 'money stuff' anymore. I didn't shout or argue, just very calmly told him what had happened with his car insurance and then said he'll have to deal with it all now.
I will help him where I can, passwords, budget and stuff but the day to day budget is down to him. Not sure how long it will last!!

Do you know it's all calm in our household.
In passing I mentioned to OH about something we need to pay he just said OK and that he would sit down and go through everything. He's planning on doing that tomorrow night.
I really don't know where this will lead. I don't mind (doesn't always seem like it but I don't;)) sorting the money out but working full time with extra (unpaid!!) hours leading up to Christmas, keeping the house running, running around after the kids....and everything I just need a little bit of help.
Shame I haven't been counting the NSDs because we've had quite a few this month....typical.:)

Me and OH sat down and went through the budget tonight :j
Not sure how long it will last but it's a start!
OHs had a letter to say his debt with MBN@ which was with akt1v k@pital has now been passed to another agency. Current balance £1008.
Called into sburys on way home, spent £37. Got petrol too.
I've written a list of all the 'gifts' we need to get. Also need to get DS3 a Christmas jumper for his school play.
Feeling quite positive at the moment, although absolutely shattered. Trying to chill a bit more with OH, I know I've got to try as much as he has to make this work.
Just got to get through Friday....then it's the weekend.:)

Two steps forwards and one back as they say.....:(
Had to have 2 new tyres on the car today. Went to town this afternoon and came back to 2 flat tyres. Ended up getting a mobile tyre fitter out, cost £170.:mad: he said he couldn't find anything sinister but if I find 2 punctures a bit suspicious.:o
Other spends today -
£6 in £land
£11 in 1cel@nd
£17 sburys
£28 primarni
took £50 cash out (spent £9 in card shop Christmas and December birthday cards, £9 on 'snacks', £25 on christmas presents).
£10 petrol in 'the other car'
£30 petrol in 'our' car
£62 in @ldi
Another £40 cash (need to pay for panto tickets (local production) & av0n. Had a call about available panto tickets whilst we were out, totally not budgeted for.:o
:eek::eek::eek:
I daren't even tally it up. OH has written it all down on his budget/spend diary. I'm still going to keep my own diary going too.
We've got most of the presents now.....apart from our own kids.
We had a voucher for @ldi that OH had been given, even so we still spent over our £50 budget. We also had a voucher for 30% off some batteries, when we got to the till the shop assistant took the vouchers before she started to scan the shopping. When we got the batteries they scanned at the reduced price straight away, she hadn't done anything with the voucher it was still on the top of the cash draw. I found it all a bit strange.:(
OH out tonight nothing fancy, budget £15.
Washing didn't dry today so airers and airing cupboard full, also heating on. Will the see the damage when I do the meter readings tomorrow.

Some weekends are just spend, spend, spend aren't they?
Just think how little you have spent on other weekends - it all averages out ok in the end.
Sorry to hear about the tyres, does seem rather odd to me but what do I know about cars??
Great news that you have got most of the presents now.
I tried to have the Xmas talk with DH yesterday and asked him how much he wanted to spend per child for Xmas and he says £400:eek: (yup £400 per child). I nearly had a heart attack:D
We only have £500 saved for presents so he says we will donate some of his wages (because it's Xmas and we have to spend a lot):rotfl:
So I thanked him for his time and told him that I would get on with the present buying and he could wrap them:rotfl:
(Too be fair DH had a crap childhood and xmas' were not much fun with his mum drinking and his parents having physical fights so he likes to go overboard)
Too be fair the RRP price might be £400 but the price I pay will be much less:T0 -

Xx
I put 2 loads out and they nearly got dry - we had quite a nice breeze - I brought them in and after 30mins on the airer they were fully dry.
There was a disaster of epic proportions though....
The Elephant household can't seem to take their dirty clothes out of the bathroom in to the utility room to the washing baskets so I just collect the washing from the floor and put it in the washing machine. The problem is that as I grabbed everything I picked up an empty toilet roll tube:eek:
I think you can guess the rest - so I had to do another few loads with just one or two items in to get rid of all the fibres.
Of course it had to be worse on DD's school trousers and jumpers and my work trousers:eek:
My new job for the next few weeks is to get everyone trained in where dirty washing goes:rotfl:
Today we are due rain so will just do the urgent stuff today and then some smaller loads over the coming week.0
