We had to give in on the heating front last night. But only because the in-laws called in. It came on about 4.00pm and when I got in at 6 it was lovely, just the right temperature.:)
I'd set the thermostat at 19 degrees. Normally try and stick to 18-19 degrees. Haven't set the timer for it to go on today. We are all out again tonight so no point.
EE - Im still pegging out when I can. Not sure about the weekend forecast though.:(
Df'w' - Yeah the temperature has dropped all of a sudden. This time last week it was 20+ degrees.
Dolphin - It felt quite luxurious when we sitting in the lounge...in the warm...:rotfl: We don't bother with putting the heat on in the morning, folk get to comfy and we have even more problems getting everybody out of the door on time.:D
I need to pay the childcare fees up front this month and if I do that means the bank account is empty. I'm going to have to hold on and pay it all next Thursday (when OH gets paid). Then save a little bit each week to put towards December's fees.
Nothing socially planned for this weekend....phew!

We've got our thermostat set to 19 degrees and it will probably stay that way. Had heating on an hour tonight as it was cold downstairs in the kitchen when I went to cook tea. Just come upstairs and its boiling in the living room!! xxMummytogirls x0

Thanks everyone for your comments - Alice's diary is like the go to place to discuss anything laundry or heating related!!
I have my thermostat at 19.5c at the moment.
I had checked the weather forecast on Thurs and it said rain on Friday and Saturday, nice on Sunday. I have got up today and it is lovely - forecast now nice today and wet tomorrow so rushing around getting the washing done so it can go on the line - we have quite a wind here so should dry quite quickly.
Really need to sort an airer this weekend, DH doesn't want to get a Lakeland one - I too am worried about where it will go as it is quite large and the lead is not very long.
I think I will get a 4 gate one - will go back and look at the discussion we all had a few weeks ago.
Have a good weekend everyone.0 -
Our heating is still off. I'm not sure when I'll put it on but OH has the week off so no doubt he will be pestering for it to go on. Think I need to sort out plenty of jobs for him to do then he will be moving around not noticing the temperature ;-)Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

A bit more talk about heating.:) We've had a letter from e0n, our 'annual gas & electricity summary'. In the last 12 months we have used 3% less electricity than the previous 12 months, but 27% less gas.:j.
Today the weather is pants, have only done 1 lot of washing and that's on the airers. Apparently tomorrow is going to be dry and sunny so hopefully will be able to peg 3 loads out.:)
Mummy & EE - 19 degrees seems to be the average. We don't have the heating on in the bedrooms at all.. And not having the heating on at all at the moment once we start cooking everybody hangs round the oven/kitchen to get warm......and the fact the kids are normally starving!!
BB - what a great idea, get all your jobs done and no heating on, result I say.;)
This morning we've been to the kids sports club, spent nearly £10 on tea, coffee, bacon sandwiches and hot sausage rolls. Not very MSE but very nice.
DS3 is having a friend round to play this afternoon so whilst he is occupied going to get some housework done. Spending diary/budget is all up to date.......roll on Thursday OHs pay day.

Excellent news on the gas :T
I got my annual statement for electricity the other day and it was based on a years estimate:mad:, I was annoyed as I have a smart meter and have done for ages but I also enter my readings all the time as well. So it was a waste of paper really.Today the weather is pants, have only done 1 lot of washing and that's on the airers. Managed 2 loads yesterday and the rain stopped here about 10ish so another load gone out and one in the machine. Should get it all washed and dried by end of today. Hadn't seen the bottom of the wash basket for a few weeks.Mummy & EE - 19 degrees seems to be the average. We don't have the heating on in the bedrooms at all.. Will keep mine at 19.5c. No heating in the bedrooms:eek:. Too be fair DD has no heating on and just her fan blowing on her all night!! DS is so thin he will snap at any time so he has his on full and I seem to alternate between having it on or off. I find it gets hot too quickly and then I get too hot to sleep.
We had the heating on for 2 nights and now I have switched it off - it's quite warm here and I thought it was a waste. It's about 10c degrees outside and I am sat with a vest top on - guess my house must be well insulated?DS3 is having a friend round to play this afternoon so whilst he is occupied going to get some housework done. Hope you managed to get a bit of time to yourself as well.0 -
This morning we went to the remembrance service. Then called into s'market, spent £42 but used £7.50 worth of n3ctar points.
I did put 3 loads out, didn't quite dry but have put the ironing on the airers and everything else on the airing cupboard.
EE - we're quite used to no heating in the bedrooms. Lots of layers, quilts and blankets when it goes really cold.
Tonight no heating on and candles lit. Money for next week sorted. Have updated the list of stuff I need to get for Christmas. Hoping for some NSDs next week, only had 3 so far!
Hope everybody has a great week.

It is freezing in the house tonight. Heating still off.......but not sure for how much longer.:(
Yesterday had to get petrol and spent £12 in 'corner shop', only went in for some bread rolls.
Had a yearly statement from Bcard, have paid just over £1200 in 12 months.
Feeling a little stressed at the moment, work is really busy and all the talk about how folk are planning on spending is starting to get to me. DS would really like a games console but I can't see it happening. I know he'll survive without it but even so.:(
Have declined the invite to the works Christmas 'do', will not have to find something to wear or worry about spending money we haven't got.
Not done any washing this week so far.
One of the Christmas presents I've bought is brand new bargain fleabay purchase but it really smells. it's an item of clothing obviously I can't wash it, don't want to spray it with stuff. It's been airing in the garage for a few weeks but still can't get rid of the musty smell. Will try and air it on the line once the weather drys up.

Please don't freeze Alice - what would we do without you??
It's not too bad here in Suffolk. The bathroom is freezing and when I had a bath the whole room was just steam, I could barely see the sink (which is at the end of the normal sized bath!!)
Good going with Barclaycard - they are my biggest debt and get £5pm only. Once my interest charging cards have been paid off (just paid off one of them today) then I will move to this one.
Luckily the people I work with don't really talk about Xmas or presents, we are all of various ages so have kids of different ages as well.
What console does DS want?
My DD wants a Nintendo DS XL thingy - it costs £250 - I was like
The problem I have is that I have DS' and my birthday in December and DD's in January so it's very expensive all round. DS is 18 this year
No washing  - are you feeling ok? Do you need medication??:rotfl:
I agree about airing on the line, outside drying solves all smells!!0 -
EE thanks for your post it did make me chuckle.:) now how you feel re December birthdays, that is our 'busiest' month, what were folk thinking being born just before Christmas.
:rotfl:
Still no heating on....am I just being a martyr now?? Have woken this morning to all the windows covered with condensation...not good.
Can you believe I only did 1 load of washing all last week. making up for it today, got 5 loads inc bedding to do.:)
DS would like a plystn 4 £350:eek: with some of the folk at work it's a bit like a competition to see who can spend the most. Like some of the dresses for the Christmas party, they are looking to spend £300 plus, and then there's shoes and accessories and heaven forbid they wear the same thing twice.....very wasteful......and blooming frustrating.
Had a bit of a falling out with OH. I forgot to order something and now it means we have to pay a higher price. Instead of £14 it's now costing £36. Totally my fault I completely forgot. But when I realised and mentioned it to OH he just sat there and never said anything. I got really upset because I'd been so stupid and have now cost us an extra £20 and was 'tar and feathering' myself over it, he just said nothing. Even if he had got upset/angry at least that would of been a reaction. What I really wanted was for him to tell me it was going to be OK and that some how we would sort it out, but he didn't. I wanted him to put his arm around me and tell me it was all going to be fine....but he didn't. It's a times like this that I feel totally alone in RL (I know I've got you guys on here, which I couldn't do without). Trying to deal with this debt (in secret) and keep our relationship together is really testing.
No sports club this morning so off to get some shopping, via cheapy shop, butchers and supermarket, and need petrol again.
