Vey sorry to hear about BC. That's horrid. At least some of the rest have been more human.

That's it..when I pay off my BC debt..when...I won't use them again out of principle..they made Mrs Alice feel bad and that's just not on

Oh, our posts crossed..well he is human and probably finding it all stressful ( and embarrassing perhaps?) as well. But agree you are right to be cross. I would be bouncing off the walls myself! Never known for counting to 10 me:D Will he definitely do phone tomorrow do you think? Can you text him to remind him?? ( I do that all the time with my OH and you should see the to do list on his iPhone..:rotfl:)

Take care hon. Tomorrows another day x

  • Just wanted to say stick with it as it will all work out. There is lots and lots of help and support on these forums and keeping a diary does help so much. Focus on small challenges, small steps forward and making positive changes.

I've not yet had a chance to read all your diary so forgive me if I have missed something. My OH was always a bit head in the sand when our debts were mounting up and when our LBM came. In the end I took control and managed the spending diary (can't say how much of a benefit that was and still is), debt management etc etc. I gave up trying to get him to own the management of it. Now he laughs and say he hasn't clue where the money all goes. Taking control of it all also meant that I was in control that also helped me and us.

    Keep positive and keep smiling.

Blimey I soo need to update my signature - next job!

  • Just had to dash off into the garage as the washing machine was making a terrible noise, still shaking/vibrating like crazy. OH thinks it's still not level so after he has called CCCS tomorrow he has promised to take another look at the washing machine.

brizzledfw - thank you for your post and thank you for your support with BC........now if everybody could follow suit......LOL.

Yeah I'm cross, he knows I'm cross but hey not a lot I can do about it now. A few months ago something like this would of caused a blazing row but think I'm too stressed to row with him (if that makes sense). xx

  • Hi Alice,

Sorry OH needs further encouragement. I do think that mens brains are just wired differently to womens. My OH is quite on board with the debt busting but if I want him to do something, he does need prompting (quite regularly - isn't that called nagging???). Once he has done it, he seems pleased/relieved etc. but just seems to lack the get up and go to be proactive. Whereas in work, where he has all the responsibility he has a rock solid memory *shakes head*.

Barclaycard are a load of crooks......
    Just keep swimming!
  • I've [STRIKE]nagged[/STRIKE] ooops I've reminded OH to call CCCS when he gets home.

It's relief to hear that it's not just my OH.:)

I felt a bit low this morning but we've been that busy at work it's sort of took my mind of things, I've come round a bit now.

Also I saved £5 on my sisters birthday present from prezzybox. The code was on a post I'd seen on here. So it worked out free postage and £2 off present.

Must get back to it, catch up with everyone later.xx

  • Hi Alice :)

Barclaycard have been our worst creditor by far :( and they are not even our biggest debt (by a long stretch!!) I also have debt with barclays & a barclay loan and they were both great about the cccs & dmp seems BC have a different dept

I do all the calling to everyone now. Even dh's creditors!!! He is useless when it comes to it. I've nagged him a few times and he's done it but generally i can't be bothered so do it myself!

Well done on your bargain from prezzybox :T

  • After all the stress CCCS didn't have any updates. Our bank have refused the DMP so CCCS are going to try again, they did say it can take on average 3 months to get everything sorted but not to worry.

Our biggest CC dept is with Bcard and I have a loan with them too.:(

I would call CCCS but I can't call them from work easily. Slightest whiff of a personal call and everybody stops what they are doing and listens in. In the past I have always sorted out our finances but secretly wished my OH would help or at least of taken an interest. Anyway he's making an effort now (sort of :)).

Washing machine still not spinning without shaking the whole house. Going to call the washing repair man tomorrow, fingers crossed its something cheap and simple. xx

  • I know you want everything sorted, but try to just let the dmp take on it's own momentum otherwise you will end up making yourself stressed (i know, i've been there done that :o) It took around 3-4 months for everything to finally settle down on my dmp. Some creditors were great they had it ok'd in days of receiving letters from us & cccs. Some however (BC spring to mind!) are still sometimes giving us grief and we're a yr into it .... they have lowered our interest but refuse to stop it. Were constantly phoning DH for months. They drove us mad lol, the only thing that kept me sane was coming on here venting, and finding everyone else (pretty much) had the same troubles :rotfl: so i guessed they just like to play it hard!

Last year my washing machine broke whilst DH was working away. I had no money to get a repair man or any CC's so i googled what the problem might be and ended up fixing it myself........which included taking the entire front off the washing machine, the door and everything :rotfl: and changing the rubber seal on the inside of it. It cost £30 thereabouts and i was so proud of myself lol! I've noticed that people on here are either having problems with cars or washing machines!!! And both are expensive to fix! so good luck with that :)

  • You know me well already debtfreewannabe321 I do just wanted everything sorted...... and sorted right now. LOL

I'm sure everything will level out as you say it's just so frustrating. Our DMP is our top secret mission that nobody knows about (only you guys :)) and keeping it secret is stressful too. I don't know how I would cope without coming on here.

Thank you for the 'google' tip. We did google the washing machine problem and have done what was suggested but to no avail. The washing machine guy doesn't charge a call out fee or he might be able to give my OH some more suggestions over the phone. xx
