  • Forgot to say well done on sorting your debts out and trying to get DH on board :T
  • Thank you Eager_Elephant, yeah I'm sure that the CCCS will be on the case.

It's just this debt free journey is such a roller coaster. I can't wait to start seeing out debt figure come down.

Had a NSD day today. Took a ride over to see a friend who has just moved house (about 45mile round trip) but will still have petrol to last until Friday. I already had a 'New Home' card and took some wine which had been a present (well I'm supposed to be on a diet/heathly eating plan!!).

Forget to mention it looks like the phone calls have stopped, so at least we can all start answering the phones again and i won't have to 'shout' at the kids to stop them answering the phone.

Fingers crossed for a good week all round. :) xx

  • i agree with Eager_elephant, let the cccs deal with it :) i remember panicking about mine when i first started and whether or not the banks would all accept them and they said sometimes it's better to let the banks not accept the dmp, they will default and pass on the debt and usually try and settle it for a much smaller sum than you owe...

well done on the weight loss, that is my next goal i think i really have put on too much weight over xmas  and it needs to go!

    dfw :)

  • Hi Alice,

Glad to hear you are feeling a little better about things and have had a good week ;)

Great idea about the wine ;)
    Just keep swimming!
  • just wanted to say that I've read your diary for the first time tonight and have been so impressed with how you have been getting on - you should be proud of how you're beginning to tackle your debts.

We are in a similar position and I am struggling to get DH on board but starting to make a little headway. I'm currently sat in my lounge surrounded by CD's - we're having a huge clearout and have a box of 50 to be collected by MMagpie on Tuesday. A small dent in the overall amount but it all helps.

I'm going to subscribe to your diary (once I've worked out how!) so that I can keep up with you and you've also inspired me to start my own - I'm sure it will help keep me on the straight and narrow as I finally begin to wake up to the mess we've got ourselves into.

  • Didn't get chance to post on my diary yesterday but have just nipped on whilst at work (naughty, naughty!!).

Thank you dfw321, Itsa and house of cards for your posts.

OH well and truly on board now, hope he stays on board (I think he will).

Healthy eating plan still going OK but falling behind with housework.:(

There is always something isn't there.xx

  • I will confess all..................I went to the supermarket today and had a bit of a splurge. I am trying to justify why!!

Although I had done a meal plan for this week and my OH went to the supermarket armed with a list to get everything we needed (which he did). I hadn't put things on the list for packed lunches, so I got stuff for lunch, some bits to do some baking (nothing fancy just to make scones, fairy cakes etc) for lunch boxes. I also picked up 2 birthday presents for kids parties that are coming up. But I spent £34.57.

We are still well within budget but it just shows how easy it is to do. I wouldn't says anything I got was too extravagant and wasteful, I just feel very guilty for spending all that money.

Will double check budget tomorrow, plus the loan for the car is due tomorrow which means we will be down to 14 payments left. xx

  • .....and the rebellious behaviour continued after my post last night. I ate quite a large bag of white chocolate buttons and washed them down with a glass of cold milk (skimmed mind!!). See no self control, tut, tut.

Anyway I have woken up this morning in a better frame of mind, still feel guilty but definately not hungry. LOL. So I am back on the straight and narrow today. I have got HM veg soup for lunch and some grapes and I will have a look over our budget at lunchtime. Hopefully will have a NSD too. xx
