So as your immune system recovers from the chemo, your back pain gets worse??? Thats bad! Really not fair :( Hope the diazepam helps.

Interesting to read your canteen meal was so bad, in the light of what they're saying in the news this week about hospital food - yuk!

Hope your weekend goes well - I'm off to Egyptology, and since I go right past an Asda to get there, I'm stocking up on peanut butter - their jars are lovely, completely straight sided, I use them to store nuts and seeds in, and I want them for jam making this year :)

The same thing happened last time after chemo so thought I'd mention it to my Onc..he was telling me that they give chemo to some patients with reumatoid arthritis...sod that I'd rather be in pain.
Enjoy your Egyptology. The jars from the PB sound handy.

I went to WWs this morning and have lost 1.5lbs so am quite happy about that.
Just had jacket potato and tuna followed by a banana for lunch and really enjoyed that.
Have just took some braising steak out of the freezer to defrost for tomorrows dinner..need to go to shop for carrots and onions now as didn't realise we didn't have any

Difficult one - I'm back on a chemo drug for my Crohn's again (I've had it before but stopped it when I went into remission as I don't particularly like taking it!) ...have been told I'll be on it at least 5 years this time :( but unfortunately it's looking good compared to the other options

Sorry to hear about your back and that its giving you problems - funny how awful drugs can still have a benefit elsewhere in the body. I've found my joints are absolutely awful again - best guess of the Drs is that it was the steroids that were making them better .... and I've stopped them now!:( (we had been hoping it'd been the influsion & they'd settle down again after my latest treatment but it's been 12 days now & they're no better so unlikely).

Hope you find something that helps ... being in pain all the time's so .... draining.

Blimey, Taxi, chemo for rheumatoid arthritis? Its an immuno-deficient disease in the first place! Glad my arthritis is the simple osteo variety, bad as that feels, at least my treatment is simply aspirin/ibuprofen etc.

It was the chemo that was easing mine as hadn't had steroids for ages..5 years on chemo OMG..is it a lower dose than for cancer patients?
The pain is draining but I tend to put up with it as am allergic to a lot of medications including NSAIs which is the best thing for it..they do offer me heavy duty stuff like morphine etc but can't stand being doped up...I will however have to take diazepam on the day of the planning scan as I cannot lie on the hard flat bed for an hour without my back ceasing up

Mines osteo as well but unfortunately cannot have aspirin/ibuprofen as both are NSAI due to anyphylactic shock from Naproxen and as they don't know which one of the ingredients it is I'm stuffed as NSAI work best for it.
Metheoexorate is the chemo they use according to my onc in auto immune disesase
