Yep, there's got to be nice places out there. Even Spain is nice for winter sun - my sister and I have both had 18 degree temps mid-morning there during December and Feb - in fact, she's there right now, basking!
Taxi, I can understand wanting to delay starting cardmaking until you're ready to give it your attention - but the little trips out are really important, I'm glad to hear you're going to try to do something else tomorrow as well as your appointment. Hope today goes well too - and have one of those chicken breasts, since your OH thought they were so nice2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
thanks KC...I did have one of those chicken breasts and they were delicious.
Have done a couple of jobs today..brought bin in,washed up and stuck washing on..there's so much to do here but my back is aching so need to pace myself0 -
Had a lovely surprise visit from DD1 and JJ yesterday afternoon which really cheered me up.He gives the best hugs in the World and I was lucky to have loads.DD1 said that I seemed a lot better in myself.I hadn't seen them for ages as DD works a lot plus she didn't want to disturb me much knowing that I slept a lot with chemo.
Have to get ready soon as I'm at the hospital at lunch time to see oncolgist and it takes me a while to get ready as I don't have loads of energy.
I have my DLA form here still to fill in but have got a few weeks to sort that out.
Must go as got to get ready x0 -
Hope it goes well.

Ugh, DLA forms. Make sure that if you are filling it in on a good day, you think about how you feel on your bad/worst days. The forms are so loooong...maybe set yourself a target of two pages per day or something?
The unexpected visit and lovely hugs made me smile.I'm a Money and Debt Adviser for a homelessness and housing charity in Scotland. If you have any questions about debt management and debt relief under Scots Law, just ask.The pain you feel today is the strength you feel tomorrow.0 -
Agree re DLA forms. Request a ringback from MacMillan and they will go over them with you. They are very good at helping to sort through the new rules and regs. x
And enjoy your visit. xBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Today has felt quite busy.Went to see oncologist and signed consent forms for radiotherapy.I'm waiting for appointment for rads planning which will probably be a week tuesday.
I then had to get to the other side of the hospital to get some antibiotics and then walked back to the canteen where I got myself some dinner though wish I hadn't bothered as it was rubbish.
On the way home popped to Lidl to get a few bits and then had an hour until my mental health nurse came..she's phoning the DR to get me some diazepam on monday to help with my back pain and to allow me to lie on the scanning machine for planning.
My back has been horrendous since my chemo has left my body and I mentioned this to my onc who said that the chemo was keeping it at bay and because my blood levels are back up now that's why I'm suffering.
Found a place to help with my DLA form that has a drop in session on monday afternoons so will try there.
My referral to the health people was sent off last week so waiting to hear from them about any bathing aids etc0 -
Sounds a busy day. Hope the painkillers help.
