Definitely sounds like good news on the radiotherapy. It does sound like with the second opinion you're feeling more in control and informed of the way forward which must help. The systems with all the paperwork etc aren't helping, but it does seem like you're winning on that front too :)

    Hi,

Sounds like they're starting to get you some of the answers and help you've needed.

You've really hard to get to this place. Well done Taxi, you're a star.

    Thanks everyone...
Don't know if anyone remembers this but I'll just put it here anyway in case anyone is new.
When my cancer returned I had my lymph nodes removed followed by a scan which showed cancer in my sub pectoral muscle. It was decided after a meeting to give me radiotherapy for this cancer and NOT chemo.
I went to get marked up for Radiotherapy and was booked to start 12 days later, the day before I was due to start they cancelled it as some top person had decided as some of it went over a previous area it was too dangerous..not sure in what way....so they then decided on chemo. So I ended up having chemo followed by another scan which showed my cancer has gone.
Luckily for me my consultant was away for my last meeting and I saw a different one who said if he was my consultant he'd be giving me Radiotherapy now.I explained to him everything that had been said to me regarding this and he said "sometimes we do have to touch an area twice".He then told me he was calling a meeting for this friday.
In the meeting this morning my onc explained why I wasn't having it when the onc I saw last week said sometimes we have to go over some areas again and those 2 plus one other onc now agree that is best course of action..I guess 3 oncs can't be over ruled by one radiologist and guess that radiologists were in team meeting this morning too and discussed this.
I'll know a lot more next friday.

This all sounds so complex, Taxi, and that sometimes different decisions are made depending on the specialties or medical preferences of the people making them - but as long as they're open with you and explain all the options, they're doing the best they can for you.

Hope you have a nice weekend - I'm heading off to a do at the local cats protection league, I'm expecting to be able to cuddle a few moggies :)
