  • hi Tilly,

do you think the SC from A*di would be big enough for a family of 4 - I was looking at it yesterday and couldn't decide if it would be big enough for us. I have wanted a SC for ages but have a very small kitchen atm but moving early next year so will have more space then. Don't want to buy one that's too small for us, so thought I would ask your "expert" opinion,

    thanks

Hi Dippity, I wouldn't call me an expert but if you are cooking stews, soups etc then it would be big enough. If you wanted to cook whole chickens, or large joints, then no.

My aunt cooks for two and I'm sure it will make a stew for at least 6-8 people. She will freeze the remainder.

    Good luck, Tilly x

    Yay to the rebate!
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
  • Morning, payday on Friday and looking forward to money shuffles.

The Tilly household is in chaos at the moment as DD is collecting things to take with her on Saturday. It's going to leave a vacuum, which we will fill with decorating and sorting in the short term. Depending upon what DS does next year, we could be downsizing sooner rather than later :)

TCB is doing well and there's another £6 ish to request. Will do that next.

Another couple of months and it's diary birthday celebrations - 3 yrs old :T. We would never have achieved the reductions without :money: and the knowledge from this forum.

    Right, I'd better get cracking.

    Best wishes, Tilly x

  • Evening, I guess I should be ironing but instead I'm sitting outside, Mr T is cutting the lawn and the HM pizza is cooking.

I know I have a habit of waxing lyrical occasionally but during major changes in life, it's a time of reflection. Watching DD prepare to leave home is a real joy - I'm sure I'll be in tears after dropping her off - but seeing how capable she is and how much more financially savvy she is, than I was at that age, is fab. I always thought it would be a sad time watching her prepare to go but it's the opposite. I feel full of excitement and joy for her :T. In fact, without being too selfish, I'm feeling excitement and joy for us too :T

Mr T is tending to go away one night a week, as things are calming down. There's a little transition for us, as we have got used to Tuesday and Wednesday nights being Mr Tless.

I'm testing DD's smaller SC tomorrow and sticking rice pudding in at lunchtime.

    Right, oven timer is pinging

    Bye

  • Thanks Brizzle :)

Morning, I'm looking forward to payday and money shuffles in two days time - not that I'm counting. DD is making smoked salmon quiche with salsa for dinner. Off cuts only :)

The hounds haven't been walked this morning and we will do this late afternoon.

23p Tilly tidied to mortgage. I'm back putting everything to the mortgage now. Offset savings are in a good place and my need to see the mortgage drop is HUGE :rotfl:

Right, cup of tea needs to be made then I'm off outside to see if I can smell autumn yet.

    Best wishes Tilly x

My need to see my mortgage drop is HUGE, unfortunately the drops aren't as HUGE as I would like, but the same amount of money each month is being OP'ed, just on my house the amount was about 2-3 months off the end but on the big house its about 2-3 weeks

    But slowly, slowly :)

  • You and me both, radish. I am keen on getting a new bathroom..mine is over 20 years old and very shabby. But I think it will probably lose out in favour of more OPs...especially as interest rates will go up at some stage in 2015 and as we are on a BoE tracker I want a bit of a buffer.

Have a great day Tilly...it's sunny here :j

  • Morning, weather really improved yesterday and washing was dried on the line. Plus most of the ironing was done whilst on con calls.

    Rice pudding was delicious :)

    Payday tomorrow :T

98p Tilly tidied to mortgage :)

Mr T will be home tonight, we have an award ceremony to go to for DD and then we're off to see Lucy straight afterwards.

Dinner will have to be quick - beans on toast :)

    PC survey in the bag.

    Roll on the weekend.

    Best wishes, Tilly
