Freezer and larder inventory finished and menu plan for June complete, printed and up in the kitchen. I would say 70% is using contents of rubber sided freezer, plus fresh veg and fruit.

In some ridiculously bizarre way I'm getting satisfaction from that :rotfl:

Mr T is home and in good form - fair amount of laughter over the dinner table, now sat watching Out Numbered :rotfl:

    Off for an early night.

  • Tilly, that is such a very good plan. Thinking of borrowing it myself if it wasn't for the boomerang son we have currently living with us. But that won't be for long and it is all food for thought

    Thank you for sharing,

Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D
  • Morning, grey sky but no rain :o

Mr T has had his next set of expenses paid into the new expenses account. Will be stoozing this as it's an interest free card. DD set up for minimum payment, plus a SO for a nominal amount on top. When he's nearing the limit we will clear the balance and start again.

No pennies to TT anywhere :(

Off to walk the hounds but slightly later and I'm looking forward to striding out in the park and getting some fresh air.

    Best wishes, Tilly x

Morning Squirrel, hopefully things will settle down at home with your son - it must be hard to see the pain and know you can't stop it :(.

It's a plan which will work for us as we only ever needed three bedrooms and made the decision to buy a larger house purely as an investment. I can safely say it was probably the most sensible financial decision we made, prior to our LBM :).

Big houses need more cleaning, more heating, more DIY - I'm quite looking forward to the de cluttering required - may even try eb@y again :rotfl:

  • Jobs

Check birthday/anniversary list and note down cards to buy
Receipts - check CC and bank statements

Spending diary - not working at all recently - Mr Ts direction to do as we spend has been waylaid by other stuff - I will be getting this up to date today :(

Check what needs to come out of expense account for work spends on existing CC, rather than new expenses not CC - make sure money is in the right place

Buy some veg plants as more seeds have failed

    Ironing

Remind Mr T to book the next two week's of hotel stays, along with any rail travel needed

Pizza for dinner - Mr T will make dough when he takes a break this afternoon. I need to ferret out toppings from the freezer - easy peasy as freezer inventory is up to date :rotfl:

Duck tomorrow evening and no idea what's happening with it, apart from we all fancy something Chinese

Brisket on Sunday - all veg in the fridge already

Shopping on Saturday will be milk, fresh fruit, red/yellow peppers, tomatoes and ginger THAT'S ALL :T

Extra money from food budget will be OPd as soon as I'm back from the shops, plus only taking cash, no purse

    Best wishes Tilly x x

Hmmm, a credit card for expenses sounds like a good idea. OH is so chaotic with his money and expenses make it even more confusing. I had planned to get him a card to build his credit score so this is definitely something to look into - thanks Tilly!

  • News alert:

Mr T and I were delayed on a flight recently and followed the MSE guide to make a claim - £650 will be winging its way to us shortly.

Thank you very much, I'll be happy to take that :):)

Have a guess where it will be going :rotfl:

Is it wrong that I almost hope our flight will be delayed so I can make a claim? :o Preferably on the way home though if I could choose :rotfl:

Hi Janey, sadly it was on the way out and we got a text just as we arrived at the airport, or we could at least have waited at home.

However, as we were only going to our home it really didn't matter :T

I was SO surprised and extremely grateful.

  • Boy we are on a roll. Mr T complained about some plants we had ordered via the Daily T. Replacements arrived today and under separate cover £20 in vouchers :T

I think I may have to buy a lottery ticket tonight just in case :rotfl:
