  • Morning Habibiboo, where we used to live there was a logical and well organised tip, with plenty of room for cars to pass. This one is mad and you are almost in a line until the cars in front move. That's a slight exaggeration but not far off :o

Good luck and I can safely say, it's good to see the back of it.

Have a good day, Tilly x

  • Morning, 50p and 14p Tilly Tidied to mortgage not MOS. I still haven't decided what the best strategy is so for the moment it will just be what takes my fancy on the day.

I have another £2.5k to find for the savings pot then that's our 6 months emergency fund to cover all expenses locked away. This is only for Mr T though, as I have insurance already. I am really berating myself for our past profligate behaviour but thankfully we are reformed.

As predicted food spends were higher this weekend but freezer is well stocked and the kids are doing some of the cooking. This evening it's risotto using the stock from roast chicken, with peas and asparagus (the non woody stalks, rather than the tips - I cooked those over the weekend as a starter)

I'm typing whilst listening to the rain - it is certainly reminding me why I want to live abroad.

Mr T left bright and early but only away 1 night, then a trip by train for a day. He's back in the swing of things and although bits are frustrating, that's just life.

Have a good day, Tilly x

I used to use hotels*com really handy with Quidco cashback and the one in ten as you could use it all over the place and add if the room cost more. Sadly used my freebies now but good while it lasted (changed jobs).

Also wanted to say good luck with your decision reading future work etc always difficult but we are only here once and should make the most of it. I am familiar with CAP I think their classes are fab but if it's actual money advise you were interested in then CAB might be worth a look as the training is excellent.
Morning TG, the £co and hotel.c@m arrangement is going to be good for us. We are back up to nearly £50 cashback but no idea when this gets paid. At least it's cash coming in eventually.

I hadn't realised you could top up the differences between the free nights and actual cost if needed - may be a good idea if we fancy a weekend somewhere smart.

Any ideas on the smart way to book trains using a cashback credit card?

    Best wishes Tilly x

I can't believe you've provided an update on the time left 'til Christmas!

Not feeling very excited by the prospect this year, possibly just as well as neither Mrs E or I will have any leave left by then :)

Good morning, it really was delicious and in my eyes a free meal - DD made it and she was extremely proud of herself :)

Morning, payday for Mr T and life is back to normal. Tax returned from last month (I'd imagined a saga like AboutTimeToo but thankfully and miraculously it's done).

Mortgage payment gone and offset topped up. Now stand at £163k :T

MF month now August 2015 :T

    It's going the right way x x x x x

Great stuff, will be here in no time :T.
