Managed to get two free cinema tickets for tonight, so kids have gone out having been fed beforehand

Rambling is the first stage of getting things clear in your head and is very healthy. Stick with it!
All the very best,

Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -
Hi SSS, at least it's not my age :rotfl:

Dinner this evening is corned beef and potato pie with glazed carrots and savoy cabbage with smoked bacon.
Om nom nom nom nom - that sounds *so* good right about now!
Today was a funny one on the weather front. Lovely and bright this morning, with a lovely red sky, followed by biblical rain tonight. I'm undecided.0 -
I've been the lucky recipient of gorgeous flowers over the last few weeks and today I sorted them all out, binned the dying ones and have managed to fill a vase with the remainder. They look beautiful
HFW Every Day cook book and Casa Moro are definitely the cookbooks for February. I intend making flat breads and dippy type stuff for some entertaining we will be doing. Plus we are doing a couple of sharing meals, where we take something to add to the table and the CM book will be great for that.
Right, money - 2p Tilly Tidy to MOS - I know, not a lot but given I'll even move 1p it's all heading in the right direction.
Sorted out spice cupboard and made a note of things I'm running low on.
My budget for Saturday's shopping is £15  I only need fruit, veg and three spices so should be ok.
We've decided to have HM pizza on Friday night and I have a little Brie to use up, so will throw that on mine.
Jobs for this weekend - plant chilli seeds and get heated propagator out of the shed. Sooo looking forward to getting outside. We are going to do a fair but of work in the garden this year, with a little building work as well. I'm trying to persuade Mr T that we can lose one of our sheds but he thinks we need the storage space. Will need to think of an alternative plan
The list DS did of my fridge contents is proving useful and some chutney type stuff will be used on the pizzas on Friday.
There's been a bit of discussion on Mr Es diary about lightbulbs, which has reminded Mr T that we need to replace the bulbs in one room. Although it has low energy bulbs, they are too bright. Need to research best prices and purchase.
Have a good night all

Hi Mr E, it's been a weird day - really foggy early on, then glorious sun and now bitterly cold, but fortunately no rain
Dinner was pretty good and when it's cold and miserable you can't beat a pie :T
Hope all is well with you and today has been better than yesterday.

Morning, grey day here and raining, however air definitely has the smell of change. Hard to describe - not Springlike but not Winter
. Now I've said that it'll probably snow :rotfl:
I've lost 4lbs over the last two weeks
I've been reading MWCs diary and loving the walking challenge. I appreciate I've not been able to do much in January but will give myself a challenge of 4 miles per day for February. 112 miles for the month.
NSDs are going well and the kids enjoyed their free rom com last night. It's good to see them money conscious too. DS bought his own tie yesterday, to go with his suit. He chose the ties, then checked the prices and bought the lowest price of the ones he liked.
Dinner this evening has to be quick so it's chilli from the freezer with salad and rice.
I looked through the two February cookbooks last night with Mr T and we have some good ideas. I'll do the plans this evening, but want to get a freezer inventory completed beforehand.
Even with my C@stco shop we still ended up only spending half the food budget from 21 December to yesterday. That's because Xmas food comes out of Xmas budget and very careful shopping from 24 December. I'm pretty sure February will be the same.
97p Tilly Tidy to MOS and 48p TT to MOs
That's all for now, have a good day.

It sounds like things are a lot chipperer in the Tilly Household, hope it continues apacea penny picker upper.
