  • Morning, NSD ahead. Can't believe it's Thursday already.

Shopping list written last night and looks like free (using vouchers) food - all helps :)

Freezer inventory on the schedule for late morning - I'm going to plan as many meals as possible from the icy cave :). I'm making ginger biscuits tomorrow and will see how they go down for snacks.

Pouring with rain here and no respite for the next few days, looking at the weather forecast.

Have a good day, Tilly x

  • Hi, shopping after vouchers cost 62p so quite happy with that :). I will need to do shopping tomorrow but that also will be limited in cost. I am guessing less than £10 and I think I'd budgeted £15. I want to spend less than £100 on groceries between now and next pay day

Freezer inventory done and menu planning this evening.

I left something behind when I was out last weekend and only realised today, and it was still there :T. So today I'm grateful for honesty in people.

Job hunting is continuing for Mr T. There's definitely an increase in interest and he's interviewing but that elusive job offer needs to materialise. He's enjoying the challenge of interviewing and does a lot of prep so hopefully all will come good.

List of tasks to do has been completed :T

Slow cooked beef with star anise is in the SC and smells pretty yum. I have celeriac to use, so thought I'd make a mound of fluffy potato and celeriac mash.

Post office task completed for survey stuff, 1P up to date, S&S completed and CP updated with details of DS suit.

Looks like things are back n an even keel and tomorrow I'm going to walk the dogs with Mr T:T:T

    Have a good evening.

When I checked the exercise board last year I was surprised there was not a yearly no cost exercise challenge.

    We have an exercise board??

*Heads off to have a look around for said board*

  • Evening, I'm am feeling so much better its fantastic :T

Menu plan for February done, printed and ready to go, along with shopping list.

I've sorted a cupboard out in the utility room :T

Will be going to the market tomorrow and Mr S supermarket - definitely won't be spending a lot. I'm hoping for February that I can shift £260 of my food budget to MOS :T

Mr T and DS have done all the vacuuming, dusting, polishing etc downstairs this evening.

I've made a clothing donation to the women's refuge. Interestingly they get loads of baby/toddler clothes but find it difficult to get teenagers clothes. Am really pleased to have done this.

All in all a good day and the Tilly household is getting back to normal :T

    Best wishes Tilly

  • Morning, beautiful sky this morning but for some reason I couldn't sleep last night and at 3am I wondered whether to get up. I'll probably need an early night as I'm determined to get into my normal routine.

Not a lot to report so a bit of waffle instead :)

Beef casserole with cinnamon and star anise needs to be packed up for the freezer first thing. I'm looking forward to popping to the market today and will also buy some cards and check my birthday/anniversary list.

I have made a start on the addresses but a long way to go. I'm using excel.

I have a sewing job which I've had for years - probably 10  - which I never finished. It's a Xmas wall hanger and I am going to do it this year. Right, I've said it now. I have made all sorts of excuses for not but I think it would do my mind good to finish it.

That's all for now, hope everyone has a good Friday.

    Best wishes Tilly x

Casserole in freezer, slow cooker has 5 chicken carcasses with chilli, garlic, ginger, star anise, carrots and onions. Will take the bones out early evening - will have enough filling for a pie using filo pastry, plus a Chinese dish.

Beef casserole packaged and in freezer. New jeans purchased for Mr T, after LV, Nectar points, money off coupon they cost £4 :T. He did see a sweater but sadly not the right size :(

Mr T sorted out a load of work shirts which he's had for donkeys years, plus jeans etc. We also took a large bag of clothes to the C4C place. I could probably have eb@yed some, but frankly with the postage etc, I couldn't face it. £6.35 ready to put into MOS.

Loose change counted up and £19.71 to pay in and move to MOS.

All in all a good morning and Mr T is just about to give his car a deep clean. He's in such a better frame of mind now, it's a joy to see :)

DS has a fair amount of savings and I'm making sure he has the maximum in his children's ISA. It's 2% and better than he's getting in the standard saving account.

Miss T has had a refund of £50 for a holiday she's booked with an organisation she belongs to. As its made payable to us, we'll bank the cheque and I've already given her the equivalent in euros, so she has her spending money :) I'll move the £50 to our holiday savings pot.

I'm going to get the ironing up to date early afternoon, make the salad for dinner and remind Mr T to make the pizza dough.

He's called SP to chase them for the cash they owe us - its now reduced to £93 and will take a further 4 weeks

Mr T has confirmed a sports court booking for him and DS on Saturday and they are both looking forward to thrashing each other :D

That's more of an update than I've done for weeks.

    Best wishes Tilly x
