  • Hi JanineH, we make 4 from the dough. He makes irregular shapes rather than a perfect circle :). Looks in shape, like a cross between a pizza and a naan bread, but fairly thin. We all prefer them like that as it makes them look more HM/rustic.

DS and Mr T are back and DS has whipped Mr T @ss :rotfl: However, DS wasn't feeling too well in the night, apparently, so has gone back to bed

Only 2 heaps of washing left, all ironing ready to is complete, airing cupboard emptied again - never ending job.

We have a couple of velux windows in one of the rooms and I bleached away some mould/mildew stuff - looks much better for it.

Kitchen sink and drainer bleached and removed lime scale from around the tap.

Downstairs loo cleaned from top to bottom, window, storage unit, loo, basin, shelves etc.

Having a rest now until we walk the hounds. I think we will walk to a local supermarket which is about a 20 minute walk - I can then buy my green veg item for tomorrow.

I'm doing roast pork (HFW) with fennel seeds - not from this site but recipe is the same as in his books.

Spending diary updated from the boy's outing. Mr T has asked that we both update as soon as we are back in the house after spending so that it doesn't become a tortuous job. It's normally me pushing so it's lovely to see him doing this.

Have a good Saturday, Tilly x

Thanks for the recipe Tilly, glad you had a good sleep. I will report back once I've made it, probably tomorrow.

    Thank you!

  • Afternoon, we settled on spring greens as the veg of choice. Walked the dogs and about 45 minutes all together. Sun shining but the wind has picked up a little now and the sun has disappeared.

Spending diary updated 75p for SGs.

ISA top up for DS not done. Just couldn't face the shopping centre today. Will pop on my list for next week.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday.

Popping out of lurkdom to add my penny's worth about pizza.......saw you mentioned onion chutney and thought I'd mention that pizza made with pesto, goat's cheese, onion chutney/marmalade and a scattering of rocket is lovely!!! and don't forget you can use a tortilla as a base too, especially if you have an odd one or two left after fajitas or similar.......quick, easy and good if you're watching the waistline!!

You're doing so well Tilly, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Mr Tilly to find a job soon. My DH is now five months out of work, there's a chance something will come from a contact in the US but they're taking their time as it's a new role (managing the European distribution network)......he's got another call with them on Weds, and I so hope it's going to come to something and they aren't just stringing him along. Time will tell, but I appreciate it's hard for the menfolk used to working to adjust to life at the kitchen sink......at least it was for my DH till he joined the library and is often found on the sofa, head in a good book!!

Hi Molly, thanks for dropping by. Feel free to pop in and I'll put the kettle on whenever you fancy :)

It's difficult for the people searching for jobs and as you move up the career ladder, there are less jobs and and still stiff competition.

However, glad your OH found the library, we have a few we are able to use and one is open on a Sunday afternoon which is really helpful.

Fingers crossed the call on Wednesday is more positive - positive vibes being sent over to you.

I'm lucky if I have any tortilla's left as DS loves them dry - not sure I could do that but he snaffles them :rotfl:

Wind has really picked up now and I'm so glad we walked the hounds when we did. We met quite a few people to stop and chat to on the journey.

DS is showered, Mr T is having a bath and I'm next.

Not sure what's happened over the last week but I'm definitely feeling so much more like myself and my motivation and enthusiasm is back which is fantastic.

    Best wishes Tilly x

Hi Tilly glad to hear you are feeling better I love your meal planning and agree about home made pizza a bit of a faff but sooo much nicere than bought ones. I tend to use Pizza flour from the supermarket and the just use the reciepe on the packet. Seems to work.

All the best for Mr T's job hunting I agree its hard when you are getting near the top of the ladder as if you apply below you will look like you are overqualified and they dont think you will stay. Could he look at part time/short term roles, just to get into something and then maybe move on from there?

  • Hi TallGirl, I've never heard of pizza flour before :o

Mr T is pretty wrapped up in job hunting and has quite a few interviews and discussions on the go. Who knows where it will end as he has been in this position before but keeping positive. Project kitchen decorating starts next week - prep done and painting next :):)

Hope all is well with you.

  • OMG the sky is so dark, the rain is lashing down and thunder/lightening as well. Thank goodness we walked the dogs when we did.
